Gabriel picked the creature up with his claws and rose into the sky, his wings beating powerfully.

Strong wingbeats could be heard in the distance as guards patrolled the border.
Scaledavia rose as well, her tail snaking from side to side. She flew in the lee of the wind, it smacking her in the face. Her scales, due to the glare of the sun, were so black they looked blue.
"Do you think that this is the-- ehhhh... Peldavia place? Pelendia?" asked a voice in the distance. "Pelendava," a different voice soon corrected, "And yes, I think so, if we can trust this map we found the other day... it looks pretty outdated. Some of the forest it refers to isn't even here," he added. Then he came upon a deep, narrow abyss that stretched across the land. After apparently glancing down at his map, the second voice concluded, "Aaand we've hit the border. This is it." The other voice asked, "So what do we do? Just wait here?" The first sighed. "I guess so. If it's as big of a kingdom as the map says, I imagine we'll see a guard or two soon."
Gabriel's deep red form rose up above the tall buildings of Pelendava, his wings beating lazily in the soft, warm air floating around the city. His origional intent had been to go hunting again, but as he left the city he realized that he didn't feel like it anymore. Instead of heading towards the forest where he usually hunting, he circled the city to stare out across the hills where he had seen the piece of metal several days before. Some part of him felt drawn to it, the strange symbols and their meaning.
"So!" began the first, losing his patience, "I haven't seen a single guard, soldier, or whatever. Do we just walk in and see what happens?" The second uttered a silent 'Hmmm' before replying, "Yeah, I hate to just barge in like that, but-" "Look!" The other interrupted him, pointing a finger up to the red figure in the sky, "There's someone!" Before the second could so much as open his mouth to speak, the other began waving a hand in the air and shouting to the rather distant Gabriel, "Hey, you! Red Dragon! Are you from around here?!"
"...Red dragon?" the second looked at him and raised a brow. "Really?" The first shrugged, "Well, what else was I gonna call 'im?"
