She paused with her wings half opened, ready to take flight. For a moment she stood there, suspended over the edge of the outcrop, debating whether or not to simply leave and pretend she hadn't heard, or answer his question. Finally, she closed her wings and leaned back, turning to face him. Her eyes were instantly drawn to him over the bland grey rock behind him, his startlingly bright colors were unusual for these parts as blending in was as much of a skill as staying silent.
"Christina," she replied once she had gotten over the initial surprise of the question he had asked.

Her hesitation was noticeable and he smirked, "Christina, Christina; what a dreadfully unfitting name for one in this place, is it not? Sadly, it is still not as ill-fitting as you are here."
Silv smiled, maroon teeth glimmering, and stepped carefully over the carcass with delicate ease, "Hmm?"

Christina's stomach tightened, for a moment she had actually thought his question indicated that he actually cared what her name was, and that she wasn't simply some nameless creature who served them day after day. But no, her wings sagged slightly in the middle, he was not any different then the rest, though his wording was crafty which only added to the disappointent in the end. She moved to take a step backwards when he stepped towards her, but felt her foot meet the edge of the cliff and she stopped abruptly as small pebbles showered down below. Though she was tempted to answer his next question, she kept her mouth shut. Experience serving these dragons had taught her that talking only made things worse. Instead, she simply watched him uneasily, unable to hide her fear, hoping that he would move on to something else instead of her, perhaps the meat.

"How did you come to be here? I can't see you surviving the welcoming party." He jeered, stepping around to the side and curving his body into a half circle, attempting to ease her away from the edge. He could taste her fear, and felinely his tail started to twitch, spines lashing, "You must be someonesss... Hehehe, someone up in the ranks, eh? Want me to guess? I love games."

Christina took a step sideways along the edge of the outcrop, then another until she had put enough distance between her and him. She knew what he was trying to do by moving her away from the edge, but she didn't want to come close to him either. "I am a servant of Lord Tenebrae and his warriors." She stammered, trying to keep her voice steady. She wasn't sure what his idea of a 'game' was, but she doubted it was the same kind of innocent guessing game she had sometimes seen the mothers do with their hatchlings.

"It would be him, of course, although I can't see why. There are plenty of prettier little things elsewhere, and nearby." He murmured, starting to walk off the edge. Rather than stop, or turn, he continued. Coming from the cliff face like a deranged spider, "Although it is not my place to question him, is it? He laughed, shrill and bird-like, "Your fear, my dear, is only encouragement to so many. You hide it poorly."

Christina continued moving away from him along the edge. She glanced over the edge of the outcrop, debating briefly to make a run for it, or stay. In the end, she decided to stay and take her chances as she knew he would be able to catch her. "Only because if anything happened to me, Tenebrae would be very displeased with you." She snapped with a rare burst of boldness, praying that he would be new enough not to catch onto the lie.

"Tenebrae would be displeased, that is your defense? Well, I guess I should slink back then, huh?" He let out a raspy breath and curled his lips,"I wonder how displeased he would be... After all, he lets you live in this.... Which I can't see you enjoying very much. Or do you? Hehe...."
He started up behind her, slow and rhythmic, his claws finding their places in the stone without need of eyes.

Swallowing loudly, she continued her slow backing up, keeping pace with him along the edge of the cliff, although not nearly as graceful. She let out a small, startled "oof" sound when her back hit the rock wall behind her, they had nearly gone in a half circle. She crossed her wings in front of her body, adding some protection, although small, from his claws or poison if he ever decided to use it. "What do you want?" She whispered, her voice tense "I brought you the meat, what more you do want?"
