I just ran off the Fox again. He got one of my EE and almost got her but my lab got after it and he dropped her. I only we owned a gun.

maybe time to set a trap for the fox. I hope you can catch the fox. My grand daughters name is Cecelia. I just noticed your screen name. Good luck.

I have put out a trap and he will not go in. We have shot one too. They breed like rats around here. They came by a month ago and killed over 10 of my chicken and doves and one duck. I dug a trench around all of my pens and houses. I let them free range in the afternoon and some jump over the fence and go into the horse pasture and I did not run down there fast enough fast to run her back.

Every home should have a gun around - and those of age should know how to use it - you never know then you need to defend yourself and your family from four and two legged critters - or defend your chickens -

I know that having a gun around would get the fox but I would shoot my eye out

. I have great nephews that are great with guns. Many years ago, we sat up all night in the back in of my SUV and it took two nights but we got the fox, but they do not live here and getting teenagers over here when the fox is around is the problem. I hoped we would just get along but that is not going to happen, so I will have get those boys over here and set up one of my older no count roos in a cage and let the boys sit around and get one.

I am experiencing the same situation as you currently. I lost a Aylesbury duck to the fox. We don't own a gun and none of us could probably bring ourselves to shoot it, even if we did. I have had my male dogs scent the ground all around the chicken house and duck houses. Also, I have bought a child's toy 'cap' gun, which has a strip of 'bangs' inside. it makes a sound just like a gun going off, and I am hoping Mr Fox will run a mile if he hears it. Foxes are of course feeding young at the moment so they are particularly predatory. Glad you outwitted your fox and good luck in seeing him off!!

That's beyond frustrating. I'm so sorry! We don't have foxes here, at least I've never encountered them, but we have coyotes, raccoons, skunks, and possums in abundance. We've found that running three strands of electric fencing around the coop has been an excellent deterrent. It also helps that we have a 120 German Shepherd. I don't know if electric fencing is an option for you, just wanted to offer it as an option. Best of luck to you!

They are raising babies at the moment! Their drive to support life is higher! If you know where she's getting in at I'd suggest setting a snare (relatively simple... Just google it! Good luck
