@Mmanist, I can get an update on the chicks today or next week when they will be 2 weeks old.

Holy smokes! So I got a chance to candle the egg, the broody witch is on! That bitty is going to hatch any day. It is working on its internal pip already! I don't know where the last 3 weeks disappeared too, but I'm excited. No idea who's egg it is, aside from a bantam egg I am not intervening with this chick. My brooder is put away for winter!

So I went to check on the egg this morning. Was expecting a little sebright cross again, since none of the other silkie eggs was fertile. I wasn't even remotely close... sorry had to do screen shots from a video, and used a spatula to lift miss broody. I'm entirely to short to reach to the back of the dog box.

Goes to show you how long a hen can still be bred from other roosters. I had them for 3 to 4 weeks, before I gave her eggs when she went broody. I had a good giggle though, here I was hoping for a little sebright/ee cross, or a silkie. Only to have a little showgirl roll out

ERMAGOSH! The cute little chick got a couple little paint markings! I can't wait until Chica come out of the box with it! If I climb in there, I'm afraid I'll get stuck
