Silkies are the best! I got 4 and trying to get more when the feed stores get more.Friend called me and said "Hey, you want some silkie hen?".... Sure why the heck not? She had someone give her 6 silkie hens. She gave me 3 since they was ready to go into a flock, and she didn't have room for all 6, in her bantam pen. The only one who has a name is the black one, her name is Betty.

I forgot she even had the 6. Till she called me like, HEY! These girls are ready to go into a coop you want some? She kept 2 partridge and a cute buff/red colored one. I'm at max capacity now, I can't accept any more. Im already going to swap some around, into my layer flock. Like Pinky, since she is smooth feathered, I'll let Fritz have her. May move my 2 polish there also.Silkies are the best! I got 4 and trying to get more when the feed stores get more. ❤![]()
They originally was in the main flock. I moved them over since they was small then. Now they are almost ready to start laying they can go back to the other coop. I'll probably swap them over this weekend. The polish should do fine in your main flock.
You have to let me know how the Polish roosting goes. My little Phyllis has issues at roost time.Pinky wanted nothing to do with the other side.. So Pinky stayed with the silkie group. The 2 polish are in the main pen, they free ranged all day with the main flock. So good luck to them tonight!
Here is couple pictures of the silkie group!
