I'd suggest the rubber. Or piece of plywood. And scrap poop.wire bottom cages are not good on their feet, you should line it with rubber/foam mats, there’s other alternatives to that though, anyone else have a suggestion?![]()

like scrape it off the wood or something. Or do what I do layer with some pine shavings and clean it out once a week
Yeah, I now. The hutch used to be for rabbits. Usually I put wood, roost, and some times hay so they don't have to stand on the wire. I need to power wash the wood to get all the poop of before I give them the wood. Rori, is one of my originals. After me and my family settled into the house we are in, I had a empty shed that stored my garden tools. Then my friend who has chickens, brought me Rori, Ruby, and Roodi in 2018. 3 young pullets, that restarted chicken keeping. Rori has brooded chicks every year for me. I just love her. She is a great mother, and such a ham.
