If I could make a suggestion, these heat plates are perfect. The chicks go in when cold and come out when warmed up, just like their mom. They sleep under it, just like their mom. You can raise it higher as they grow up.

I've been considering one of them too. Rural365 16x16 actually. I think that the brand anyways.

My big chickens taught them that. I catch them sneaking in, to eat their feed. At least they have been getting acquainted!

Mr. Noodles is getting so handsome. He is such a lover too! Then Toodles stands on my foot insisting I pet her too. Today must of been a loving kind of day. Everyone was being extra friendly and cuddly. I like cuddly chickens though. So I just spent an hour giving out some chicken love!

I have 7 babies needing names! The 3 EE, 2 polish, and 2 California whites!

I named the 3 buff brahma Gertrude, Bertha, and Olga.

I got a nice head of black garlic from my grandpa, who has been growing it for well over 15 yrs, this past winter. So I planted a handful of the smaller cloves back in February and got a few nice small heads back. The majority will be planted in the fall for next year harvest. Not bad for me planting it late in the season.

I love it. If I can't have mom that is what I want. My opinion only. There are lots of ways to keep them warm.
