The Front Porch Swing

64 makes my measly 20 look like child's play! that is great!!!! (trying to imagine 64years...that would make Dh 96...that would be nice!)

I just saw a chicken lurk by.
why is there a chicken in the house.....

Nutmeg approves of your chicken ninja who snuck into the house. She believes all chickens belong there. We are hoping she does not teach her chicks her bad ninja manners.
(I will answer your pm in the morning when I can search cut and paste there number)

64 is amazing! Huzzah for your parents.

That's funny pysanki! My turkeys try to do that. Harvey knows where the meal worms are kept. She to them every day during her facial healing. It took a long time! It's now ingrained into her and Lily likes to follow Harvey around, so there are two sneaks now.

I love that Harvey is a girl!

I am sitting here waiting for my coffee to brew, then the husband has a list of things as long as my arm that he wants to accomplish today. I mentioned to him that it was a long enough list that I'd be worried about accomplishing it in a whole week and he sheepishly agreed. I have a list, too but mine is more reasonable, I think

1. rework some compacted beds for the plants that are hanging out on the front porch
2. make some goat-proof feeders for the chickens.
3. install the new little treehouse coop that I stared a couple of weeks ago so we can move the red dorkings into it and out of the quarantine pen that they've been in for 6 months
4. weedwack.the fenceline
5. install the redundant net fence to combat the predator issue we are having

actually, looking at it, I think it might be more reasonable for the whole weekend, not just for today. that might be pushing it.

It's raining here, so it's a good day to finish cleaning the house I guess.

Took all my remaining broodies out of one house last night and tossed their rotten eggs. They fought over nests and broke so many everything else was bad. I put the girls two to a cage and gave each cage 15 newly hatched chicks. When I checked in on them later 4 girls were cuddled up next to their cage mate, but one cage had one hen on all the chicks and the other hen sat on top of that hen. Hope they don't crush the chicks!

Harvey looked like a Two Face version of a turkey. She literally had half her face tore loose or off. She's one that will never leave the farm.

Jason's employer is right across the street from the Dayton Airport and they have a family picnic tomorrow so we can all watch the airshow for free. This weekend is the Dayton Airshow. The third act today was Jane Wicker, a wingwalker. Her plane just crashed and burst into flames with her on the bottom of the wing. They are not saying if she or the pilot survived, but watching the video posted on youtube of it happening, it would be a complete miracle.

They both died.

I am so glad we were not there today. That had to be awful for anyone watching, but especially the children.
