Quote: I will send the good, soft gentle rain your way....that's what we got, and why the birds (and me) were out playing in it. The kicker for me was...I went and bought 200 foot of hose, and a sprinkler to put out on the horses area this morning, turned on the garden sprinkler for a while. No clouds in sight...what happens?....it rains! Guess I should buy hoses more often!
so what were ya moving?[move] just testing something [/move]
One cloudy day we were at our townhouse pool (many moons ago) and it started to rain. They told us all we needed to leave. We only lived a couple of blocks from the pool so started to walk home. It was a brief, but heavy, shower that left puddles along the road home. My daughter ran ahead of me and Adam, our son that has Down Syndrome. As we walked, it dawned on me that he would never "take it upon himself" to splash in rain puddles, as I, and countless other children had done when faced with opportunity. I started to walk into the puddles and stomp my feet and he got an astonished look on his face and joined me. We took a long time getting home because we hit every single puddle between the pool and home. My daughter (three years older than Adam) came back to see what was keeping us. She joined the fun and I must say it is a favorite "rain memory" of mine.
I think she was trying to see if she could make the text move.so what were ya moving?
So I got up early this morning to clean coops before coming to work… they are ovens in the afternoons. The one isn’t too bad because it gets a cross breeze and we put a vent skin on the roof to shed the hot air…seems to be working okay. But only so much can help because it is out in the sun. But the other one is feeling a bit stagnant. I have started opening up the hatch in the daytime to get some air movement and DH wants to put a fan in it.
He is so funny. He didn’t want the chickens but he will make sure that every animal we have is well taken care of. I love my husband.
Poor man is not feeling well either. He has had a fever on and off for 3 weeks now. No energy…wants to sleep all the time. Constant headache. And I haven’t caught whatever this is, despite no precautions to the contrary. So to me this all adds up to: tick borne disease of some sort. Went to the doc again yesterday and they are FINALLY taking him seriously and put him on Doxycycline. WTHeck? They could have done this a while ago! And they have finally taken blood to test. But it almost doesn’t matter which tick borne disease it is, because they are all treated with Doxy. But I guess it will confirm and eliminate that it could be something else.
We have been having fox issues and he is feeling guilty that he hasn’t been able to do something about it. But he is sick! I got my sister to help me move some fencing to get better coverage where the chickens want to hang out. I wish we could explain to them which areas are the safe areas and not to go beyond the fence. Life would be so much simpler if we could just explain the rules to our animals. And I would even be willing to make a bargain with the fox that if he left my hens alone he could have most of the cockerels
so what were ya moving?
