The Front Porch Swing

Being an owner of a liquor store, I love when people come in looking for all the ingredients for many of the foofoo drinks. Watch out for green drinks, Scooby Doos come to mind as do the ones with Absinth. I'm partial to mojitos myself if I'm not drinking a nice glass of wine.

I love days like today. Older grand kids this morning, lunch with all grand kids )

I love it.  Now I know who to come to when I need answers to questions of this.  A Harvey Wallbanger was about as foofoo as I get.  :lau

Speaking of questions, ladies and gents, I scrxxwed up and fed my 6 and 10 day old chicks adult rations on my fermented feed.  They have not had any grit or anything and the feed has scratch, boss  and oats along with layer feed.   I put out extra rations because I was going to be away until afternoon.  So I  go out there and they are not running and jumping, just sitting with the biggest crops ever.   I ran to get the rough sand w/ pebbles and dirt.   Didn't feed them supper.  Two hours later they are up and scratching around.  I put Nutri Drench in their water.    Is there anything else I should do?

I think the will be fine. You got them some grit and they are up scratching. Broody raised chicks eat everything mom eats.bugs, grass, grains etc.

Well, that was anticlimactic ! Surgery took 42 minuted and I was a little groggy for a couple of hours but since then I am doing laps in the hallway. Hard part is done, now I just wait for the swelling to go down and learn how much I can eat. Life is good!:D:D

How are you feeling today? and how much can ya eat.

They are better today. I put out a small serving of fermented feed so maybe maybe the grit is helping. A couple still have the distended crops but I'm keeping my eye on them today. I've got to make a decision what to do about the eggs that will be hatching. I'm thinking about trying to make a box fan cooler. The regular temp in the storeroom (uninsulated) is way over 100 from 11 am to 6 or so. Even with the A/C going. With the others I just packed them in a cage and put them under the shade during that time. I may have to do that. I have a 3' x 12' growout pen but it is squashed in between the large and small coop. No room to navigate a lot of space. The door is on the end and I could put the older babies from the 4' x 6' in it. Just no way to spread shavings 12' from one end. I'm sure they could do it for me.
