The Front Porch Swing

He will likely be less aggressive around people that dont run from him...    You could also say you found a great place for him....  :gig   where he wont chase anyone again.  kind of a white lie...    Just dont invite her over for Thanksgiving....

I'll probably try and keep him around for awhile. I told a friend that if he gets too crazy, I'll have a real good place for him...under my head and in my belly! :D

But I really do want to eventually breed some geese. Maybe this is my start. My Romans are nice and I love them, but they won't get very big and I would eventually like meat birds (though Roman geese do make good roasters, apparently).

Did y'all notice a little change? Perhaps a slight alteration in a certain young BYCer's username?

Anyway, I can't move into the garage yet. The temp is still kinda off because we need insulation for the garage door, but we will get that in the next couple days. For now, I'm planning out an A/C cover for it.

It doesn't look great but it works, but I figured making it look nicer would make it easier for Dad to pass by it without saying anything.

The cover I'm imagine invokes a wood frame and copper-painted metal grate. I think if I color match the wood to the trim around the window, it'll look very nice.

So much to do! I'm also selling a bunch of my ducks right now, so I'm schmoozing in the Facebook sale pages.

Oh man, that A/C unit is SO ugly, might as well burn the garage down

I gotta say, I don't think I've ever seen such a fancy window on a garage. I think you are right, you can make a nice "screen" for the A/C unit, your Dad will never even notice it. Since you need the back to stay open, how about a nice louvered door insert for the back and solid wood for the top and sides. Nothing needed on the bottom.

I guess you are a big girl now since you got a big "L".

When we moved onto this street, it was an up-and-coming area. My dad wanted the windows to look really nice to improve resale value. It's a huge, fancy window (one of three big ones on the house) especially for a garage. But it makes a perfect bedroom window! :D

I'm going out to purchase the insulation today. I can probably get it done in an hour with help and then I'll move my pallets into the garage for my bed.

Don't forget that uppercase B! I'm a lady now, haha!

Prayers for Kendra, please. She's been so sick the last few days, and when her temp went back up to 103 Jenny said, "That's enough of playing with this - she's going in." Just got a text - her heartrate is 156, can't get oxygen stats higher than 90, and she's wheezing really bad. Jenny just got over some kind of pneumonia a couple of weeks ago, and it took nebulizers, home oxygen and several medications which Kendra can't take with her seizure meds. She can also have seizures if her fever gets to high or stays high. Spina Bifida complicates everything. Jen said they were just getting ready to do a blood draw and chest x-rays. Poor baby, she doesn't understand instructions or conversations very well, so anytime she sees doctors and nurses she panics. Gonna be a long night for her.

Oh Blooie, I"m so sorry Kendra is struggling. Prayers she recovers quickly.

She's being admitted. Heading up there now with diapers, catheters, her meds and Jenny's meds. Oh, pray hard please!

Our prayers are with you Blooie!! I almost died from pneumonia (double lobar) I had a temp of 107.6 when they admitted me to the hospital. This was back in the 50's and I got a shot in the butt of penicillin every single day for months. Was in and out of the hospital for months. I was not expected to make it through the first night, but my mother said I was too stubborn and onry to die (she spent the night in the chapel praying.) I was between 2nd and 3rd grade and being so young was what saved me though I toasted quite a few brain cells!
Anyway, that is to let you know I have been there and know how nasty pneumonia can be!!

Just got back from the hospital. She's a pretty sick little girl. She has pneumonia. worse in right lung than left. Her temp went up to 103.6 before it started slowly coming back down. When I left it was 101.something. IV didn't go well - couldn't get it in the left arm, so had to go into the right, which was miserable because that's the arm they did her initial blood draw in. Like a couple of dummies neither Jenny nor I thought to suggest using her foot...she has very few nerves to her feet. Duh!! Running cultures to see if they can identify the bacteria for more effective treatment. I had to come home because I have to take care of Katie and Evan overnight since Kenny has to be work at 6:00 am. He tried to get someone to cover for him but since he was already covering for someone who was sick, they just don't have enough people. I'd much rather be up there with Jenny.

I'm praying for Kendra to get better soon! Also sending loads of good thoughts! Hope she starts feeling better.
