The Front Porch Swing

Welcome Indiana Dave. So how are things doing in Indiana? No singles thread that I know of. I don't know if it would be allowed on BYC.

But I do recall some married woman shamelessly harassing a man on one thread. He kept changing the subject and she kept trying to provoke him to invite her over to see his stock. He said he had nothing to sell and she wouldn't quit. I actually asked her what her husband would think and she replied "Who cares." Thankfully she either gave up or found some other victim. It was not pleasant for the rest of us on that thread.

Found it!!!
.......so this is the "porch" I was told about? Is there a singles thread on this forum? Kinda kidding but would certainly visit! Lol

Um, I don't think so. Wrong kind of "chicks"

That's funny!
Rain, rain and more rain here in Indiana. Lots of high water and mud. Rivers are out of their banks and our lakes are near record level.
As for me, I'm going thru a divorce, which meant getting rid of all my birds. Thankfully my brother took my best stock, and I sold the rest. I did keep my favorite Banty hen. Bought a diaper from Louise's Country Closet and I now have an indoor chicken for the first time in 30 years of raising poultry. She has been my saving grace!

Sorry you are suffering the trauma, hopefully things will be smooth (not always the case) and you can get back to having a place where you can raise chickens again. I have been known to say "chickens are theraputic". Don't know why, they just are. Not sure I would go so far as a house chicken but circumstances dictate action.

Been raining a lot here as well, similar situation on the rivers and lakes. Lake Champlain's typical high point is the end of April. It was high then though lower than the long term average, dropped until the end of May then started up again. It is nearly a foot higher now than it was at the end of April and about as high as the average April figure. Typically it would drop from the end of April until October then rise a bit until mid March when it starts its spring rise.

Thank you all for the kind words!
Chickens are VERY therapeutic! Whenever I had a bad day or was in a foul mood, I would go sit in the chicken house or out in the run and just visit or talk to them. I've always had a few that would fly up on my lap to talk to me. It always made me feel better. My little 'Beardie' (d'Uccle) does that now. She would rather sit on my lap and let me pet her than to run around on her own. So thankful for her!'!!!

And they changed the front page of the generic "freeforums" site and login page. Threw me off the first time, thought I got to the wrong place. Once you sign in it looks "normal".
