The Front Porch Swing

Well Beekissed I wasn't one of those Grandmothers either until "Bentley" came into my life, I have never been so in love. I do share an occasional picture but do not overload anything or anyone. My Grandson is almost 5 months old. He gets packed up in my carrier sling thing and goes out and helps me feed chickens, we read books about what chickens we are going to get this spring, we bake goodies together for Grandpa and nap together sometimes too. lol I will be the grandma who shows Bentley how to butcher a chicken as soon as that boy is walking he will be helping me clean pens, I wonder if I can find a saddle for my goats for him to ride haha. People say If I knew Grandkids were going to be so much fun I would have had them first, TRUE.
We started our hobby farm for our kids, grandkids as well as us. We have rabbits, pot bellied pigs, goats, dogs, cats, parakeets, cockatiels, bearded dragon, and chickens, chickens and more chickens. I would like to add more chickens and a donkey or alpaca, maybe ducks too ooh the possibilities are endless. lol
Thank you for your prayers I've been at the fork in the road for quite some time, I will find direction.
Stay Warm brrrrr

How fun!!!

Now see, those kids will remember all those experiences all their lives and tell them to countless people, to their kids and their own grandkids as well. That's the kind of grandma I want to be too...a grandma that makes memories, not just cookies. Just think how much farther ahead in life and school those grandkids of yours will be than the other kids just because they got to see and do all those educational things before they ever hit a class room.

I remember so much of my grandma's house and farm even as much as I remember her as a person because they were so intertwined. I loved it all and those early experiences shaped my life. I really wanted to be like grandma and I think, out of all the grandkids she had, I am the most like her in so many ways.

I was depending on you to pipe some sunshine up here but you are only two degrees warmer than our temps, though our "feels like" is negative five right now.

Bread pudding! I've never had bread pudding before...is it good?

Thanks for the invitation. I made it up from Tennessee and brought some of my homemade peanut, pecan and cashew brittle. Hope y'all like it!

Bee, I'd like a cup of half cocoa and half coffee....Oh, and I brought the fire pit if you've got the wood.....so we can roast the marshmallows.

Oh,boy!!! Brittle!!!! Man, are we gonna get fat on this porch....

And a fire pit! BC, you are so very thoughty...practical as always. Yes, stoke up that fire, the old bones are chilling tonight....

God laid down a perfectly good cherry tree in the yard this summer and I'll use that on the fire. That tree was HUGE and it was killed by carpenter ants...I was here when it fell and it was very odd. I saw these leaves shaking and there wasn't any wind, then I heard a huge CRACK. Then a little while later I heard more cracking and more leaves shaking. Still no wind or anything, just a calm, clear day. Then all the sudden it started to lean, crack and quiver and then slowly it fell to the ground. We've been using that cherry wood and mixing it with our other wood all winter long, it was that big! Burns hot and long with hardly any smoke, so it should keep this porch WARM.

Yum......half coffee and half cocoa.....love that! And I have dibs on the brittle.....yummy....and yes BF, bread pudding is so yummy! Old southern recipe......I have to find the time to search thru Mama's recipes....I just know she stuck it in one of her cookbooks.....good way to use stale bread....sugar, eggs, milk, cinnamon, raisins....and if you don't have those use cocoa for chocolate bread pudding.....good on a cold night (and day).....definitely not skinnying.....is that a word? Studying Fruits of the Spirit......good stuff! Oh....BF let's build a bonfire .......

Don't know why you say that.....you are one of the smartest, sweetest women I know.....(don't let it go to your head....ha ha ha)
