The Front Porch Swing

Ha! I just figured out how to add a "My Coop" link to my user profile, so it appears right under my avatar/name/location info.

I also realized I really do need to update the thread about "My Coop."

Hello again!
8 ft is pretty high but I can sure recommend at least 6 ft high. I am beginning to permanently have a stoop from my pen. It WAS 6 ft but now has sunk to about 5'3 and I am 5'6 sooo but on the other hand my friend Carolyn has no problem...maybe I can talk her into cleaning for me. [hint]
I wanted to tell you all this morning that I am so very happy to have found this place, you are all so sweet and gracious to each other AND to new comers like me.
Such warm welcomes, and I feel like everyone really means it too!!!
Other threads here on BYC are pretty cold and "closed" but not here.
I felt like a stray pup wandering up on your porch while you all were talking and eating and drinking and when you saw me you just handed me a cookie and a drink and loving pat, and boy I am waggin my tail and plan to stay!

Hey everyone! Abby is feeling a bit better. Hubby stayed home today since it is our anniversary. We got the big kids on the bus for school and then got the little ones ready and went out for breakfast,
Abby had a dr appt and then we went to the grocery store. Just have got home. Abby is crashed on the couch and hubby is feeding the youngest some leftover rice chicken and shrimp. Waiting for the big kids to get home then homework supper and ready for bed.

Blooie, oh Blooie....... I have a new grandbaby quote for you.

Grandad was being Grandad AGAIN and pestering Carly this time. Now Carly just turned 3 in February and she is a NANA's girl deluxe and she usually doesn't have too much to say to Grandad but Grandad was pestering her unmercifully so she turn and said....." That's it Grandad there will be NO candy for you today!" turned and walked away. Grandad was speechless and Nana made a mad dash for the restroom.

Nana's precious angel. Miss Carly Jo

Oh Oh, tail wagging on the porch? You have stiff competition with Jake and Boots! (Pssst, they love cookies too). The horse over yonder belongs to Perchie Girl.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! How many years?

I am so happy Abby is feeling better. Hopefully it won't run through the family!

Thank you! We've been married 7 years and together almost 11.

I'm definitely glad she isn't throwing up anymore... she does have an ear infection, so feels pretty crummy from that. Had to get her an antibiotic today... UGH.

Good for you two!!! You sound like Ken and I. We dated 5 years before we got hitched! We will celebrate 32 years in April! I keep telling him if he hadn't been afraid of the 'C' word, it would have 37!

I was 17 and a junior in high school when we met..... He was 24, and always came into the bowling alley where I worked to shoot pool. We started spending a lot of time together and denied that we were dating for months. Everyone else said we were, but we said we were just friends. Then he went on a camping/horse back riding trip with my family. We sat up with my uncle all night in front of the fire, and decided that weekend, that it was a little more than just a friendship. That was in 2003.... Now, we have 4 kids, just bought a house last year, and are still as happy as we were back then! Just different priorities!
Its sad, but we have been married longer than either one of our parents have been... in any of their marriages..... We look at our grandparents and try to use their 50+ year marriages as role-models for our own.
