huh?I must be doin' it ALL wrong then. I toss them egg shells right in the run......nothing different or "improved" with them. I don't even rinse them out.
Of course, I have had any of the issues with my flock as so many others I read about. I feed 'em,water 'em, and let them be chickens.
They play in the dirt, find bugs, eat frogs, ......and I ignore 'em.![]()
I bake the eggshells and crush them first because it makes me feel useful to do that. BK likes to tease me for that. If we have a broken egg in the nest ... It happens often enough ... It goes to the free-range hens behind the coop. They hang out at gathering time all hopeful and stuff ...
I think if you're that afraid of the germie thingies in the eggs so you don't want the chickens eating them, you're in big trouble.
