Speaking of bad days. ....... Something has been killing my hens........ caught an adult male feral cat today. I got a .22 for birthday. It works REAL good.

That stinks! I have been worried about feral cats and strays since I got my chicks. Good for you with your .22!

You are getting into it in a big way and right from the best , aren't you? I have two pullets from Kathy out of Jeremy's stock and then this roo from Ken, so they say it's a good combination of type and feathering. I'm pleased with the laying of Jeremy's line so far and I hope Ken's line will just support that and improve on it. It will be some time before we know how it will turn out, but it's fun to anticipate it.

They are the breed of my heart, these WRs...I can't stop looking at them! It seems they embody everything I ever remember about chickens on my grandma's farm...just big, soft, motherly hens with a regal, lady-like way about them.
