The Front Porch Swing

Blooie, I won't repost the pics, but how sweet and romantic. My wedding ring in my first marriage was my great aunts. I recently passed that ring to my niece
so it will stay with the women in my family. Congratulations to them both. He sounds like a good and sensitive guy.

Mine is going for his Bachelors in Astronomy.... Or Astrophysics. At San Diego State. Just in the past twenty four hours he got a job with the college to work on a research team and get paid.... His interests are diverse. What ever he does with it I am soo proud of him. Right now he will be analyzing satellite data and assisting the PHD's in analysis protocol on their next project.

Doin good for a kid who was math phobic up till about three years ago. He switched from marine Biology when he couldnt deal with the whole scuba diving thing.

Astrophysics is a challenging fascinating area of study! And kudos to him for getting a job that furthers research. To be paid for what you love to do is the best.

I'm going to jump out of my own skin. Haha.

I chose some pics to get printed so I could mail them to my dad. That was the easy part.... What the heck do I write?
Write about your family. Whatever you write will be from the heart. You are in my prayers!

Soo Happy for all of you!!! Congratulations!!! Beautiful Granddaughter!!
Want to give you all an update on my DIL Stephanies benefit this past weekend. GOD IS SO GOOD!!

The outpouring of support and love was sooo overwhelming and humbling!! They raised an enormous amount for her!! So much more than we ever dreamed!!! This if from a very small community in a sleepy little hollow of sw Ohio. No big money here, at all!! Just Big Hearts! They had a live auction, and people were beyond generous. Some would pay hundreds of dollars for an item and then donate it back to be auctioned off again. My granddaughters 5th grade class donated a gift basket worth over $200 and it brought more than that. One of her classmates painted a picture of a fluffy dandelion, with the fluff being blown. You would not think it to be made by a 5th grader, it was sooo good! He called it "My Wish". His wish is "that Stephanie would have a successfull lung transplant"! It was bought by a very generous gentleman, then donated back and then I bought it!

It is beautiful!! That little boy gave up a new bike he was saving for, to donate. There was such an interest in his art, that he is going to paint some more pics and people are going to pay him for them. He already has the bike he was saving for. Another "God thing" story. A dear friend of ours prayed and told the Lord she wanted to do something special for Stephanie. She kept going in the room where she had an heirloom quilt hanging on the wall. She felt this is what the Lord would have her do. She wanted it to go for $1000, and she told the Lord she would make up the difference of what the quilt would bring. Well, that quilt brought sold for $850! She was so happy, even though it was very hard for her to part with the quilt. It was made by her great aunts, and after they passed, it went to her mother, and it hung in their home for many years, and then passed to my friend. The people who bought the quilt go to church with us. So on Sunday morning, they brought the quilt and gave it back to her!! Her testimony was this, when we give and obey the Lord, He always gives back so much more!! Several people at church that couldn't make it to the benefit, and there were a hole lot of them that came, handed me envelopes, checks, cash to give to her. I'm still overwhelmed, and so, so thankful to my faithful God!! I try to be thankful everyday for all of His blessing, because I have been blessed beyond measure!!! But when I see the hand of God work in such a mighty way, I'm always so surprised!!?? Why is that!!?? I see His mighty hand in my world everyday. Praise His Holy name! Halleluia! I don't want you all to think I'm just praising my God because of just this blessing! My God is good all the time!! We are in for some highs and some lows in this journey we will walk with our Stephanie, but we will trust and believe, praise and worship, no matter what the outcome! His ways aren't our ways, and His thoughts aren't our thoughts! Sorry for the long post, but I feel like shouting from the rooftops!!!

GOOD MORNING!!! Welcome to the Front Porch. Please stop by and tell us more about yourself. We love stories and pictures. As you look around we have buckets, swings, rocking chairs, hay bales, and porch railing to sit on. I brought Zucchini/Cranberry/Pecan Bread this morning. There are more sweets over by Miss Bee's rocker. Can I interest you in a glass of Sweetened Tea or do your prefer it Unsweetened? Coffee is brewing, so help yourself to the goodies.

Lisa :)
