The Front Porch Swing

I KNOW what's inside of me...I get a big ol' ovarian cyst now and again that takes up a good bit of space and causes discomfort.  Big enough to affect the sciatic nerve in my right leg and cause pain there a good bit until it bursts.  When it bursts it burns a bit but then feels so much better.  When the cyst is big I really get the hormonal munchies!

My sis was a surgical nurse and she helped remove an 80lb ovarian cyst once.  For years after that I was convinced that all this extra weight could merely be a humongous ovarian cysts that could simply be removed and I'd be instantly slim.  :D    Hey!  It could happen!!!

Maybe that's what's wrong with me...!?! lol I have had some major, almost unbearable pain with this female stuff over the years. I bet there have been things inside me at times that it's good I didn't know about. lol

Quote: I dont believe in getting animals too fat... sheesh Look at me... Knees blown cant stand or walk for more than twenty feet.... For my dogs I have bought good quality kibble..... then free feed it. My grey hound staye very well conditioned on it He had pleanty of room to run about if he wanted.... then When I brought My pound Puppy Rosie in to the family she was amazed that all that food was there.... It only took about a week to figure out she could have it Any time she wanted.

She stayed lean but very healty in perfect weight all her life. When she was ten she could still jump a five foot fence and beat me to the car. I only ever gave canned food if I had to feed a pill or give some vitimines.... Both dogs in later years.

Someone came into my yard when my Greyhound was there and stabbed him in the chest. I only noticed because he was limping.... when he met me at the gate with his goof face on.... He smiled and rolled his nose up to show his toofs to me. A dog greeting its pack leader expression..... some would think it was aggression though..... It was then i noticed the blood on his shoulder. The hole went about six inches in and he had to have his shoulder opened up to add in a drain.... Giving antiboitics to a Greyhound is sooo easy...

He was a light dog only weighing in at 65 lbs he raced till he was three.... Blew a hock and was lovingly given to Greyhound rescue... Some of those race dog trainers treat their dogs very very well. My friend Denise saw him and decided to get one herself.... Instantly becoming an expert.... by the time she was done her hound was over 90 lbs with an aircraft carrier back.

Same goes for horses..... I can tell the difference between one that is in Athletic condition vs one that is Just Thin. Oh I got some stories....

I always have Labs or Lab mix dogs and you can't free feed a lab or soon you have a barrel with legs.

Once a day feedings and it's pretty easy to control their weight by simply giving a level scoop or a heaped up scoop for a couple of days to a week. One scoop a day does them well...anything above that and they are ottomans with legs once again. My boys and I always laugh at how easy it is to maintain their weight by these simple adjustments and how nice it would be if someone would control our weight for us in that manner.
