Last week, I was watering the lawn and putting out large hoses to water the front when I heard a happy "Hi!" from the driveway. It was my cousin and there I was, dripping wet from being sprayed with water, hair a mess, pant legs rolled up to reveal unshaven legs.
To be fair, it is still winter. I'm allowed to grow my hair however I dang well please. But still, it's weird when your male cousin comes around and sees you looking like a mess, haha! He proceeded to enter the house, go to the backyard to take a peek at the chickens and ask me questions (he chased a frizzle, which was hilarious 'cause he's a city boy through-and-through). I love him, but I was totally not expecting him to come by. If he was down in the Rio Grande Valley more often, I'd probably tell him to call first, but he's from Austin and I don't see him much. Next time, though, I'll probably find a way to distract him. He's an animal lover, so I think handing him a chick will have him entranced, haha!
