Quote:For myself, I have dabbled it it most of my life don't need the hassle of doing it for other people other than family.LINDZ!!!! Those were adorable! You really hit the jackpot with the chicks and an enabling husband!![]()
Faerie, adorable looking chicks! They are really growing fast!Congrats on the house WyoDreamer!!
Lindz, this is why I am afraid to go to TSC, I would come home with too many chicks!!
Took my chickies outside, they had so much fun!! For some reason they loved my grandson's plastic slide.

Darkangel, I hope you get your birthday present! Are you wanting to do this for yourself or run a business? I have wanted to 'dabble' in it, but wouldn't know where to start. Good Luck!!Glad you guys like the sign. Blessed be to those who are having troubles. I will certainly be asking for this http://herbalacademyofne.com/intermediate-herbal-course/ for a present when it is possible.

Quote:ooh please share some of those old joy of cooking recipies =)Oh that is so funny. I put my name on a waiting list for French Black Copper Marans back when I had a job, I told hubby that I was obligated. 'Course I paid for them with my egg money. Got 4 of them.
And today, the co-op chicks come in. I ordered one replacement rooster, but of course, he has to have friends....
I'm glad you have overabundance now!![]()
This is DH's serious weakness, he likes ducks more than chickens. So AFTER the chicks have left the brooder, I'll start looking for ducks. More babies!!!!And they were PULLETS!!!! Nothing like that ever happens to me. Well, I don't know. I'm such a newbie I don't know if the good sells will come. I know that I have $225 tied up in about 50 chicks coming in 2 batches in the next 6 wks. And they're not even the good stuff. We'll see. Anticipation!!!!I have been reading the Cackle Surprise thread and they are getting some really good deals. Mostly pullets. It's usually a couple of ducks, turkeys and 40=50 chicks. For $60 or so shipping included. And you can specify no ducks, bantams etc. Usually they'll help you. Something to think about. ha![]()
There are several good books out there about herbal uses/companions. Check out Carrots Love Tomatoes for companions. I went to the big used book store - they do trade-ins too - and found some old herbal guides, the older the book, the more uses they list and they usually have more variety as well. I even have an old Joy of Cooking that lists recipes for comfrey, which is now "bad" for us - IMHO only if you don't know what you're doing.
Yeah, we think we're pretty lucky to live here. The shot of the Pryors from the kitchen window was taking looking North. In the photo below are the Big Horns, looking out of my other kitchen window toward the East. And we have the Beartooths/Absarokas to the West, but there's a house in the way so we can't see them until we stand in the street!Oh that's just beautiful! Amazing view, even with the pole.
Growing up, my parents use to put a label on the bottle with the person who gave it to us's name on it so it wouldn't be returned to the same person as a gift!We don't either..so every time someone brings a bottle of wine to our house for a party or big dinner it gets put into the "take it next time we're invited out" box.![]()
Hey everyone![]()
Oh me too! And has anyone heard from Bee yet?Growing up, my parents use to put a label on the bottle with the person who gave it to us's name on it so it wouldn't be returned to the same person as a gift!
Crossing my fingers on the hatch today... all of them!
So, how are you today?Hey back!![]()
