Could I join the Porch Gang? I've read this thread and really responded to the conversations. It's so good humoured and respectful and supportive throughout. Some of the other threads can be a bit daunting for a newcomer. Nice to have what feels like sanctuary. What can bring? I do compost. I have an open mind. I did castrate two rams, with vet help. Got 10 pampered chickens. Oh, how about homemade lemonade to celebrate spring?

I am right there with you. It's my first hatch and the temperatures have fluctuated so much I'm nervous. I've only seen a couple move but then I wonder if it's my brain playing with me because I want them to move so bad. Lol. I put my chicks in a cow water trough. One thing I've learned is ventilation. It definitely needs ventilation. The girls on here have some great ideas that I'm going to incorporate this time.

If you don't mind me asking, what day are you on with your hatch? what kinda incubator are you using?

Hate to hear that Linda. I know it is frustrating and just makes you feel sick. I got some Delawares from Meyer's last year. They are probably my best layers.

And I particularly wanted Delawares.

I like a bucket seat, thanks, tucked in a corner so I don't feel I have to comment on everything. And I will get to critter stories in time I'm sure. Just now I want to soak up the refreshing conditions and promise I won't be a pest, parasite, or predator.
