OH MY!!! Too Cute Alert!!!

If she weighs 12 lbs, how tall is she? My mini-schnauzer weighs 16 lbs and is about 12-14 inches tall. (Just eyeballing, never measured her

) BTW, one of my granddaughters is named Lillian. We call her Lilybug!

So these are my new chickens. The one on the left has only been here an hour and has already established himself as lead bully. He has singled out the smallest EE and will walk up to her and begin pecking on her and she just squats and takes it. I have stayed out with them and won't let her get near my lily. Soo even though I know there's a pecking order I just won't be able to stand this new one hurting mine. I'm fixing to throw her over the fence and let her be coyote food if she's not careful. Any thoughts??

Just saw on yahoo news that most of texas, oklahoma, and other southern states are under a severe tornado outbreak threat this weekend. All of you in these areas stay safe and take precautions!!!

We're supposed to get it on Monday.. and apparently the weather radio warning system or something is having technical issues (not sure of the details, story relayed by my DH). Fun, fun, fun. I hope nothing crazy happens, I'd hate to have to drag the family to a shelter.

Yes indeed, going to a shelter right now--not good for y'all. Praying everything passes away from you.

Thank your lovingmyhens!!! I've been to Katy Tx!  My DH, DS, DSIL, worked in Houston for a couple of years.  I would fly down and stay for a couple of weeks at a time. The others stayed the whole time, but I had to be here for the chickens.  We stayed in Spring, and Sugarland mostly. We went to the outlet mall there in Katy. Actually, my DH has a cousin living in Katy! Such a small world!
Will wait for the song!

Youtube.com search happy day by Tim Hughes. You'll be dancing with the kids!!

<sigh> I don't live by anyone. Well, 'cept for my family and the 600 + people I call my friends here in Cowley.

That little mini is soo stoopid cute I can't stand it! Every time I look at those pictures I have to smile!

Praying hard that the hard weather skips over you all! Funny, isn't it? I've never articulated this thought, so bear with me while I try to find the right words, but it seems like when we pray for something bad to miss us or someone we care about, and we come out of it safely, we thank God for sparing us. But in order for us to be spared, that tornado (or whatever natural disaster is happening) has to hit somewhere else, where their loved ones are praying just as hard and not having their prayers answered. I think about that sometimes......by praying for someone to be unhurt, am I actually praying for something bad to happen to someone else instead? Just musing - those really aren't questions that need answers because there aren't any.

Went out to supervise the chickens going to bed. Been finding a ton of feathers when I go out in the morning that weren't there when they went in, so I was curious. Well, I found out. It was getting dark and they all came running into the coop like a bunch of 3 graders at a fire drill. I stayed in the shadow, not saying anything, but watching. What a joke! It was like taking a long road trip with 22 six year olds who all want to sit by the window! It was like the old days when we were traveling in the Navy. "Maa-aa, she's touching me! Maa-aaa....Kenny's throwing up and Tammy's getting all the big pieces! Maa-aa, it's my turn to sit by the window!" Sheesh! They were climbing over each other, knocking each other off the roost, even trying to crawl under each other. Wings flapping, beaks flying, feathers floating down - total mayhem! I know they need to figure out who's top hen, but that was crazy! The only one who gave up was Jane the Evil. She flew down, scoped out the coop, then flew up to her favorite place among the framing studs in the wall. She was asleep before I left the coop! A couple of times I thought about interfering, but they gradually started settling down. Some of them ended up roosting on the poop board, so I'm sure they'll be pleasant to look at in the morning. I'm gonna see if I can talk Ken into just one more teeeeeny little alteration on the coop. although it goes against what I wanted.
