Good job on the diary... I did that with Weight Watchers.... Only counted portions which were specified. I lost 56 lbs n 26 weeks. Kept it off for two years. At the time I was around 195 when I started. I was loosing appx 2.5-3.0 lbs per week sometimes more. I walked at lunch time half an hour. Then came home changed my clothes and went to the barn where I boarded my horse. I would trail ride bareback for a couple of hours.... Riding for a few miles and walking for a half mile or so.

After riding I would clean my horse up put away tack and give him his treats. Then I would go home and shower and change to go out dancing..... I would dance at least four to five times per week at my favorite country and western place. Two of those nights were Clogging nights.... Tap shoes and high heels ..... even at 200 lb s I could do a bell kick....

But the combination of Steady caloric intake and the added exercise of Walking at lunch leveled my weight loss out. When I was done I was back into a size twelve..... Pre highschool size.

But I am done with "programs" or fads... If weight watchers was the same program now as it was then I might have some success.... Because I cooked all my food.

Atkins or low carb makes me feel good.... I cant do it hardline though.... fermented food is intriquing... I love plain Yogurt.

I have been on Optifast, Airforce diet, Grapefruit diet, Low carb, Weight watchers, HCG shots, Phen Phen, Jenny Craig, Weight watchers again, EVERY time I have gained the weight I lost back and then doubled it.

I thought when Katee came into my life that I would loose some weight. And I did... Training a driving horse makes you walk for miles with long lines teaching the horse to be a driivng horse. And it was working.... Driving walking long lining Keeping up with a big strided horse...

Then I broke my ACL and my progress was smashed in one fell swoup.

...and ya know what? I went for years with no energy. Now I feel like I have more energy but it hurts too bad to do what I want and need to do. It may all be in my mind but I think my high omega eggs has give me more energy. Eating those is about the only thing I can think of that I have done differently.

Wow inspiring stories, I was the heavy daughter but not big by standards I just had meat on my bones over my toothpic sister. By the time I was 21 I was on my second baby but was doing good. Now 30+ years later im 7 live births and lost 7 and my oldest son recenlty passed. Good health all my life until about 1999. My youngest got type 1 diabetes at 13 months and my hair started falling from stress. I retired from real estate one cause the school was always calling about her sugars and two, my blood pressure had finally become an issue and the meds the doctor put me on nearly killed me twice in one week. About time the war here began I was sitting in the basement most days due to heat, using a mic to chat online and playing Frontierville on facebook all day. I had a dream of farm life. I saw no one but my hubby and kids and only went out on sundays if I felt like it to help hubby do the shopping. It was mental hell during the war and it took its toll on me 18+ hours a day online. By the time it was over I was weak mentally and physically. I came here at 168 pounds my heavist ever. Got here and hubby went back leaving me with the kids, no car and little language. In a few months me and my middle daughter dropped 20 lbs. My weight you could not tell by looking at me ive been lucky always it settles evenly. But im now living better than I ever have. All my inlaws suffer so many illnesses but most is due to lifestyle. They envy my health. After my son died not only did we lose him and his help but my car we had just shipped over a month before. So I was back to walking and I bought a wheeled cart and became a bag lady lol. The day he was killed his father had just bought his first car for him and was preparing to ship it. Last week I finally got new plates and insurance so I can drive again. Roads are beyond deadly here. 10 yr old boys can be seen learning to drive cause lord knows women dont. (Sarcasm only women do drive its male mentality). Anyways the car hubby bought is a highly desired vehicle now dince 4wheel drives were banned and only military had them. So if you have it then you must have stole it during the war right? So I cannot go out of my city without a male to drive it and preferably a middle age one. We bought it for business and hauling big family. There is only social laws now, people do as they please and anyone with driving sense can go mad here if you live long enough. 1 yr driving and your a pro. Ive drove over 32 yrs with not a blemish, so coming here is my worst nightmare for driving. So I only use the car for big shopping days. When hubby gets here I will pass him my sons car and I want a smaller suv. Flooding here is bad and unfinished roads can tear you up. My laptop is got some issues and im not using it cause I got to many valuable things on it. So im on my tablet til hubby brings me another one. The house we are looking at is in the sticks on dirt roads so im good a bit away from shops so my mormon upbringing will do well once I can get my pantry going, then my southern side can take us back to simpler times and I have plans for a 1950 bomb shelter im going to add to any property I buy.
Well I guess I done my internet usage for the day jacking my jaws here so I best be out to let the chicks out to their sunning pen. Take care all, I sure dont miss the weather there and the seasonal issues. But I pray for everyone safety.

Oh I should say cause I know you're looking and saying 183! I wish but DOCTORS think I should be 115 my momma was 97 when she passed last year but I can tell you I prefer a 140 meat on my bones and rounded butt over stick framethe doctors think I should be. I do yoga and stretching exercises to keep limber since we have none of our stuff from home yet. I eat 2 eggs most mornings with a cup of tea and a glass of yougurt milk and then unless I get invited out I dont eat again til after 7 when we have our dinner. Fast food was killing my family. That and all the processed stuff. It was a HARD adjustment for all of us but unlike locals we drink a LOT of water. My allergies are gone, my bp is normal and my cholesterol levels are back to normal. Same for all my kids plus my girls had female troubles that have all now normalized. Lifestyle changed us for the better. I carry 2 to 4 8 liter bottles of water each day up 6 flights of stairs, walk miles for lettuce or a new pot and since there are no junk food places well we are all doing better.
Most women here by the time they're in their 40s got kids doing 90% of the chores so they can sit all day drinking tea and chatting with neighbors. Each my kids got one chore and I do the rest. And my inlaws envy my fitness. Most families are moving away from farming life as being old fashioned or too hard after being exposed to western influenced tv programs. Its sad cause I try to tell them we are going back to those ways cause of so many health problems. Grass is no greener you either use a lawnmower or a lamb. My son that died and my middle daughter were both over 200 when we came. They both lost over 20 lbs and my daughter is still dropping weight since her surgery. She found out she had gallstones and was operated on two days after he died, we had just been dropped off from setting up the surgery when he left for work, I said see ya later. He never made it to work. My husband was nearly killed in a car accident 22 yrs ago and suffered a heart attack after my son died. I got to make sure I set things now so that I can manage alone if needed. Since I have no kin here I must rely on inlaws and who I marry my daughters to in my old age. Since im a foreigner I cant own my house but it will go into my daughters name so im protected in the event hubby dies. Laws are different here and could change as the new government is formed. They reinstated allowing 4 wives but honestly I dont know anyone with more than one. Most divorce and get new ones another sad trend. Oh well better get busy. Hope to go out to see another place today or the first one again waiting on people to have time is the hardest.

Me too...! I need to lose at least 100 lbs (doctors would say I need to lose about 160 lbs). My weight hasn't bothered me too much until last year when I started having all kinds of joint trouble. First I got bursitis in my hip. Let me tell you, THAT was the absolute worst pain I have ever had! I am not a cray baby but that had me in tears several times. It hurt so bad I could barely walk and seriously considered crawling. It lasted about three months and a big part of that time I was using a walker to keep from putting any weight on that leg. One morning it hurt so bad I couldn't roll over to get out of bed. I laid there for I don't know how long just trying to get up. When I finally got up I slept in the recliner for about two weeks. Finally got over that then tore something in my knee of the same leg. Hobbled around with that, using the walker again. Finally got to where I could get around fairly well then hurt my foot on the same side. It hurt so bad I thought I had broke it. Drag out the walker again. Now my feet and knees hurt most of the time and some days I want to sit down and just not get up! Ibuprofen has become another food group! I have got to lose it or else!!!
Willow,

Please be careful with Ibuprofen as a food group, it can be bad for you long term or too much. Glucosamine helps my hips. I thought it was hooey at first but when I quit taking it they start aching again.

Take care,

I noticed you wrote you could do weight watchers if you could cook your food, when I needed to loose weigh after having my daughter, I did www.sparkpeople.com because I was able to cook what I wanted and if what I was cooking was my own recipe I could input it in their recipe calculator then it would show me the nutritional contents. I got tired now of tracking all I ate and drank but it did help me make some changes. Its free

Hi dpenning. I don't over do it, I don't think. On a bad day I take about 8 tablets. I believe that is 1600mg. I really hate taking it but I have to take something. I've never been one to take a lot of medications, otc or otherwise. But with this pain I have to do something. Prescription pain medication helps so much but they are hard to get. My doctor quit prescribing pain medication to anybody because of Obama Care. I know losing the extra weight is the answer. I don't have the normal "food problems". I don't eat much fried food, hardly ever eat fast food, don't eat much bread at all, don't buy soft drinks, and don't buy a bunch of junk food. I have been to doctors that start the speach on how I really need to stop doing all of that. I get the deer in the headlights look when I tell them all of that is not a problem. I know they think (along with everybody else) that fat people are known by first name at all drivethru windows. LOL They think all we do every day is sit on the couch with the remote in hand chawing on a couple Big Macs with super sized fries and sucking down a two liter of Coke while eyeing the dozen donuts that will be dessert. Shoot, before this pain came along I could keep up with about anybody working and could work circles around a whole lot of people. I guess that was the problem- being overweight didn't hinder me much so I didn't bother losing it. Young people, get the weight off BEFORE you mess your joints up! I never even thought about it messing my joints up.

At the moment I feel like a blue ribbon dairy cow... eating a bit more frequently just to keep up the energy to do that. Moo.

We'll see what it does for my weight, long term. Hate having to eat these horrible oatmeal cookies and milkmaid tea *munchmunchmunch*

Totally understand. Ibuprofen does help but is so dangerous. I took 2 a day for 3 years and my DR never warned me that it would cause bleeding ulcers if you don't eat with it. Almost died because of it. I can't take it even with food now. Bummer
