Hi everyone.... Did I miss anything important that I should go back and catch up on? I've been too tired to get online much.... Not really much going on, just tired and run down lately.
My Salmon Faverolle eggs are hatching, but not good.... I set 45 eggs total, so far we have 5 chicks.. I'm not a happy camper. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for the ones that hatched.... Just VERY disappointed that I spent that much $$ on the eggs and they haven't hatched. Out of 32 Sal.Fav. eggs, only 14 made it to lock-down... and out of those 14, only 3 hatched. AND one of those is the wrong color, clean legged, and no extra toes. It is really cute though! I just hate that I paid $50 for 3 chicks to hatch, and one of them being a mutt... or something!

Lemme see....Jamie came home! Well, not home home, but home to US soil and his family in Connecticut, so that still counts! Rachel got to hold her husband close and Landyn got to see his daddy for the first time in 7 months. When Jamie left, Landyn wasn't crawling yet. He walked to his daddy today. I so wish I could have seen that moment. God is SOOO good to have protected them all from harm.

Ken finished installing the third window in the coop. We opted for a smaller one on the west side, right even with the center of the roost, since they all squabble over who gets the window seat. We will not put one on the north side - our weather is too funky. But even that will make a huge difference ventilation and light wise. God is SOOO good to have knocked some sense into Ken's head. (oops, sorry God....I shouldn't have said that. I won't, however, take it back after the hassles of getting him to do it)

And Charlie CROWED....well, kinda sorta....um, I think that's what it was. If they stand on their roost, stretch their necks out as far as they can, flap their wings, then make a sound like a stuck elevator, is that a crow? It matters not...<sniff, sniff.> I'm so proud..today my boy became a man.

And if getting a chick - any chick - from an egg isn't a miracle anytime it happens, I'll eat my hat! See, I had big blessings today and there are small blessings to celebrate too. And LINDZ is back! So double yayyyy.... and thank you Lord for our friends - all of them, feathered, furred, or skinned. Um, wait....that didn't come out right. I need to rethink this. I'll be back in a little bit.

My two Aussie broodies are sitting on 14 eggs each. Broodies are just really amazing to me. If humans had to work that hard to have kids there wouldn't be any! I believe Black Australorps have to be my favorite breed so far - great layers, quiet and haven't had a layer with a bad personality. Really sweet layers but my rooster is an entirely different story. He's lucky to still be living.

That's a cute chick but I can understand your disappointment....that's a lot of money for 3 chicks. If I can manage to hatch out some of these blue blood WRs and they can make it to maturity, I'll hatch out their chicks next spring and send you some if they are a breed you like. Fred said that hatching out mailed eggs is so very iffy and he's tired of the poor hatch rate also.

I am praying that you feel better and are back to Philippians 4: 4-9 again real soon!

I got my computer working today.... Last night we were up till 2 am putting the computer in its spot and getting the old one out... tweaking furniture around a bit.... Then first dang time out to the world of the internet I got a Bleeping Virus. Not more into ten minutes

... my fault to anxious to read email.

Got the virus situation delt with and went to bed. Whew.

This morning went and ordered Hay to be delivered to the house..... Asked the fellow if he could place it a little farther from the fence.... LOL Katee has been feeding herself.... From over a five foot fence and the hay is a good four feet away from the fence. Ats my girl.

She needed a new fly mask this year so I bought thier LAST Warmblood sized one.... Shes got an eensy Draft face. Katee can wear everything Warmblood size for her head with the exception of Bridle brow bands.... Gots some Bwains in there....

. she has issues with bugs....

So I get home and start to tinker with the computer.... I had to adjust Thunderbird and Fire Fox to work with Avast... Thunderbird is for email Fire Fox is a web browser made by the same company and Avast is a really nice Virus checker. All Are free by the way. Though I did buy the expanded edition for Avast.

Firefox has an Ad Blocker... Addon which I installed. I am starting a new set of filters for Thunderbird so each thread from BYC goes to its own folder. I lost all history and existing emails from my original installation... Sigh. But I can go to my originals online... at BYC Google Groups, and Yahoo groups.

The computer is eerily quiet.... No hard drive so it just sits there. Light on.... The fan only should come on if the temp spikes so there isnt even the sound of fans going. I LOVE IT.

I still wont install Corel draw just yet.... Every time I ran it on the old computer I had to expect lock down.... I am shell shocked. I may even wait and purchase the next version as an upgrade. There are eight Gigabytes waiting to conduct the graphics on an intense graphic oriented video card.... Ima feerd.... LOL.

I have saved off everything from all my graphics projects to a portable hard drive so its all there waiting for me to work on it.

OH and today I cooked beef ribs for dinnner... for the first time... Oh yumm. Will tweak it if I do them again thoug... I didnt give myself enough time to do them the Brazillian way....
