That and I've been losing chicks for a couple days.
As soon as I did that, something was dislodged and Sandy reached in and grabbed a baby rat, still pink. She took off with it. After that, all three dogs had rats in their mouths and proceeded to pridefully show off their kills.
Oooh, good news! Mama has begun to realize that she's finally gotten over Grandma's death and has let her go.
She wants to find plus size dresses (or make them) and sell them locally.
Sounds like things have been going good in your people world. So glad your Mom is doing better. What a nice plan for making the + size dresses. I wish the fashion world would get with the program and realize that we're not all anorexic. Nice to have dogs that can deal with rodents. When i had a terrier, she was a better mouser than my cats are. And refinishing/reupholstering that furniture sounds like a fun project. I did some furniture in high school: stripped a few tables and refinished, re-upholstered a funky rocking chair. Later did a couch and chair.
Hi! I want to visit the front porch. I'm Randi. I live in Arkansas with my husband and two sons. We've kinda started doing the Hobby Farm thing and just living a simpler life. We have dogs and ducks and a turtle.
We love on the same property as my parents and grandparents. It's good to be close to them for several reason. We are here if they need help (no one is getting younger) and they can teach us what they know. Plus I think it's great for my boys to be close to their parents, grandparents AND great grandparents! I hope to make some nice friends on here.
Welcome Randi. You are blessed to be living in a multi-generational situation. I think our society is so fragmented with the loss of the multi-gen families. I'm raising 2 grand children. 12 y.o. boy, 7 y.o. girl. So, you could say i'm multi-gen... just spreading it out over 40 years! And passing on an enduring legacy based on Christ is our highest calling in life. When all is done and said, what else matters?
Starting my new Job tomorrow, haven't been employed the last 6 months, prayers requested please.
Will let you all know how my first day was. Thanks Essi
Congrats on your new Job Essi. Enjoy!
OK front porch swingers - I need some good vibes on a job application I submitted on Friday. If I get the job, I can move to the new place and live with my hubby again.
Getting really tired of this separation and need to get there to weed the flower gardens! there are so many of them there.
What a beautiful home. I'll pray that you get the perfect job so you can get there right away. It is so hard to be away from home!
Well, our sweet DIL Stephanie is on her way to Cleveland clinic for her first round of evaluations for her lung transplant. It has been a very rough weekend. She has been in the hospital since Wednesday night. Was released yesterday afternoon. She was coughing up blood, had to be put on a breathing machine for a couple of days. Weaned her off of that on saturday so she could come home. They didn't want her to miss her cleveland appointments. She is still feeling very bad and weak. I asked her if she was ready for all of this and she said not really. The first thing they will do is a PFT, pulmonary function test. She hasn't had one for several months, because they are afraid it could cause her lung to collapse again, or now the bleeding to start up. So please pray for her, for strength, for the Drs., for my precious son and their 2 equally precious children, her parents. They had an 18 year old son pass away from cf. It's going to be a long haul, and she is growing weaker quickly.
Blooie! I hope a pray your trip is going the way you dreamed it would! Be safe and have so much fun!
Stephanie is in my prayers. Her, all of your family, and the medical personel involved in her care, also for the individual who will be donating lung tissue to her.
Blooie, you are also in my prayers: for a wonderful trip for you, for your strength so you can enjoy all the pleasure this trip has to offer, and for your loved ones at home in your absence.
Raised three boys, who are now out of the house and on their own. It's a job and one has to be ever vigilant. It's a great calling and the world needs more godly men, more so now than ever. I have three good, respectable young men but the traps the devil lays out there for young men are varied and dangerous...they are ever in my prayers.
The snares are out there for both young men and women. No matter how old our children are, parenting never ends.
Ha! Nobody's family is the Waltons, not even the Waltons.
I'm sorry you got left with clean up. What a nuisance after you've done all the preparation and hosting work. I sometimes console myself after an event (I'm supposed to be hosting my family's reunion August 10) that at least it pushed me to get the place looking the way I wanted it, and now I get to enjoy it after they're all gone.
All family events end up at my house also. It's tiring, especially as we get older. But, honestly, that's the only time i have good "stick to it until the job is done" help with the housework.
