The Front Porch Swing

Well, that was anticlimactic ! Surgery took 42 minuted and I was a little groggy for a couple of hours but since then I am doing laps in the hallway. Hard part is done, now I just wait for the swelling to go down and learn how much I can eat. Life is good!:D:D

Well anticlimactic is good if we're talking about surgery! Congrats!

Here is our new girl. I think we've decided to name her Clover. She was injured at just a few days old and now her leg/foot is deformed. I'm not sure if it's something that can be repaired or not. It doesn't seem to cause her pain, and she's learned to "hop on one foot."

Oh and she's starting to feather out so she looks ragged.

Wow... Thats scary! But im glad that you were kept safe! Thanks for sharing. :)

Very thankful that you all were safe. It is hard to see the devastation around you but I am thankful your family was spared!

Thank you suyoder and LMH for your kind words :)

First I want to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences. I am doing some better today. The pastor from the church I went to Sunday stopped by today. He was on vacation Sunday so I didn't meet him. I like him very much. I will be going back this Sunday.
I went to Veteran Services yesterday and if I can obtain a copy of a divorce decree from Denver they may be able to get me a pension. I tried before to get it and they said I had to come in person or send a courier to get it. I will try again tonight to do it online.
We are doing a celebration of Doug's life on August 9th. It is the soonest all the immediate family can be together .Just keep me in your thoughts and prayers and pray that Doug is in God's embrace.

Will be continuing to keep you in my prayers... May The Lord wrap His loving arms around you and yours.

Hey everyone! Hope all is well on the porch! I miss you guys, but have been trying to stay off the computer so much, and this thread moves so fast! You are all in my prayers!
Busy busy around here! Have new chicks, and some older ones as well. Still having issues with the dog.... The kids are great! The hubby is wonderful! My sister has 10 weeks left before her baby is due, and is doing much better! She found a new doctor and things are going much smoother. I think that's about all thats happened since I've been on here!

Well, girl, glad to hear from you. We missed you. Try to check in at least 2 or 3 times a week. (instead of 10 times a day like me)

Wow things do move fast on the porch. My heart goes out to you rrrmamma. Nothing I could say could make it easier, but I can sit with you.

Dpenning- glad the surgery went well! Personally Drs & I don't get along too well. I hate having to do their job for them, and more times then not they make more work for me.

I think my daughters dog bit the sheltie, just enough to have a puncture wound to get infected. I took her into the vet clinic & the vet wanted her to have surgery ( not my regular vet). I refused & told her I could handle the wound but she would need antibiotics. The woman stormed out of the room so fast that I didn't know if we were done. What I was trying to tell her was that I handle wounds daily (my hubby has been dealing with pressure sores on & off for the past 5 years), & have quite an arsenal of meds to deal with it. FYI the wound is healing spledidly!

My chickens haven't been laying in the coop for the last month. I can't find where they are laying. It's the largest egg hunt I have ever been on. I don't want to lock them up in the coop while it's hot (for us). I did find they have scaly leg mites. Yuck! I''ve closed them in the run & have been cleaning, spraying, & painting the whole coop; then I attack the chickens!
