I eat rice, potatoes, veggies, fruit... That and sammiches. I love sammiches. We really eat quite healthy, I just need to lay off the bowl of cereal I like to eat at night.. or the afternoon snack. I've lost all my baby weight from Amelia, and then some. I was 285 when I got pregnant.. 316 when I had her, I'm 272 now. It's really only a matter of eating just a little bit less for me.

I was 255 when I got pregnant with Thomas.

I was 235 when I met hubby.

That man is a danger to my health

235 is my happy place. I'm size 14/16 at that point. Good enough for me.

It sounds like you are in a good place right now. Slow and easy.

Yay! I love hearing girls say that. I get scared for the ones who have to be a "4". Who are these girls? Who is telling them they aren't good enough? I am 160 and have plateaued there for 4 yrs now so I am staying here. Funny, I am a size 14 too. Weird how that works on different bodies, huh? No wonder people freak out over a number. Would love to get back to 130 just not happening with something drastic which I am not going to do.

He's resting in the fridge. My first ever on my own butchering experience. Not that hard but when I say butcher you KNOW what I mean. I can't tell you how many times I've heard to be prepared. Well, the knife was from the stone age. Dull, dull, dull. I ended up using the kitchen shears for most of it. But he did not go gently into the night. It took almost 2 hrs to set up , butcher and then to practice on my caponizing. Good thing he was dead because I would have killed him twice over. I think I'll practice only on dead birds for a while. Learning the basics. I did find his little "beans".

And I got them out on one side. Without a good knife I couldn't do it as well as I should. Hence the dead first. Only thing is I have 12 small roosters. I don't want to kill them, then practice. Maybe someone will give me some small roosters. Well I'll have chicken salad in a couple of days. Looking forward to it. I probably need to get some CX's to take me through the winter.
Today is the day that Bethbug is supposed to mail out my SG Dorkings. Looking forward to it.

Quote: The better half is about a 36 in our measurements, so that would be anything from 2 to 6 in yours. We eat the same sized meals, plus she snacks a lot. I've been trying to put some weight on her, but that girl just poops everything out.

I think ideal weight is when you're happy with yourself, and you're in good enough shape to move without it bothering you. Weight and size isn't the same thing as being healthy and having stamina. I know people who are a size 2 and can't climb a flight of stairs without breathing heavily. And I know people who have a BMI of 30 and can run 5 miles easily.

The freak out over a number is why I refuse to ever own a scale. In high school I swam 2 hrs a day, did aerobics as a class at school, I was a swim teacher and I was active at home too, still according to the weight charts I was on the heavy side. There's no way I was heavy, I might have been a size four, I don't know, I have never looked at sizes, I just grab a few different sizes and try things on until they fit. I don't know if there is any truth in the whole "some people have heavy bones" thing, all I know is a one size fits all weight chart isn't realistic. We all carry weight different and what is a healthy weight for one person doesn't work or another. I think too, women, are told from birth that were wrong. We need to look like this or that and once we get there were told no, this is wrong or that's wrong. I told my husband in my next life I want to be a man! Lol. Men are told from birth there right and anything they do wrong is excused with "oh he's a boy".
