Great work Katie. Next one will be by hand, right?

If Gramma has anything to say about it that's exactly how it will be done!

Yay Katie. The quilt looks great. You guys are making me want to do some quilting; Tried it once years ago. Got the top done and never did anything with it. Got too busy with kids, etc. I have 3 sewing machines and a serger that I inherited from my Mom who was a seamstress until her eyes gave out. I need to find room to set them up and see how much I remember about sewing. My one problem was if I asked my mom for advice she would take the piece and do whatever I was asking about so fast I never could figure out how she did it. Zippers today are still a problem for me. 1-2-3 and she would have it done and I still didn't have a clue how she did it.
Guess there are videos on line for just about anything now. Maybe I'm not too old to learn.

I have one quilt that took over 13 years to make. I started it when Ken's ship was deployed and we started calling it my "When-I-Wanna-Quilt", because the only time I got it out and worked on it was when he was gone for months at a time. It has pieces of my maternity tops, kids' clothes, bassinet and crib sheets....nothing but love and memories in that quilt. I was actually kinda sad the day I put the last stitches in it.

FYI I started a thread for stories and discussion of horses

Regarding the horses in our lives

Hey Sweetie, I checked out your new thread and it's beautiful. In case, ANYONE missed me, my computer has been down for the last five days or so. I have been going quietly mad. Once you have BYC, the cooking channel is just not the same. I don't even watch TV anymore and I'm tired of reading. Glad to be back.

Thannks Linda

ya know I have pretty much stopped watching the cooking channel these days.... Especially since the Iron Chef faded away. I do watch Pioneer woman, Barefoot Contessa, and Good eats.... Oh and Diners Drive Ins and Dives... Guy Fiere is a hoot. But its gone all game show.... for the rest I hate it.

Then there's always cooking and carpentry with Felix

Yesterday was chicken-sundried tomato pasta.

1 lb chicken, cut into strips.
1 clove garlic
1 shallot
½ cup of sundried tomatoes
1 cup cream
oregano
salt
pepper
fresh basil

Fry the garlic and onion on low heat in oil, once they're cooked, turn up the heat and throw in the chicken. When the chicken is cooked, add the tomatoes, cream and the seasonings, except for the basil. When the sauce is ready, add the basil, and serve with pasta and Parmesan cheese. The sauce might need to be thickened a bit, some corn starch works for that.
