I took a gazillion photos yesterday and today, and still have to sort through them and get them in the right folders. But this one was so special. This was Katie giving Kendra the quilt she made for her wheelchair and car seat. Now, I must concede that because it didn't have lights, buttons, and sing songs, Kendra quickly moved on to the next package. But someday she'll understand, and this photo will be priceless. Katie's face says, "Yep, it absolutely IS more blessed to give than to receive!" Kendra's face is more like, "Move the blanket - I think there's more under there!"

My grandma was a knitter and made all of us grandkids afghans. I have mine still, never use it but I treasure it dearly. She made a really pretty one for my nephew. He was so attached to it. Kinda literally attached, he would wiggle his fingers in between the stitches and go to sleep wrapped up in it. He wore that poor afghan out and it developed some tears, so my sis asked grandma if she could fix it. Grandma got mad that it was damaged and yelled at my sister that she shouldn't let him use it and she should put it away and keep it for him as a memento. My sis was a little upset and let her son keep his blanket. She had a friends mother patch the blanket.
