The Front Porch Swing

Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted. I will probably never get caught up.

New here! From MN. Born right where I am at now inherited the family estate. Nothing fancy, 1 acre of land, ancient Victorian farmhouse. Ancient Victorian coop (everyone calls it a small barn) has housed 2 Arab horses comfortably. It has a split Dutch door going out to a large paddock,so top could be left open. Two distinct rooms. We wired it for electricity back in 1980. There is also an entrance door that goes to our back yard. The light switch is just inside that door. We have apples, black raspberries, after a mild winter we get blackberries from our blackberry bramble patch. When I get around to replacing my dead pollinator, we will have Japanese plums (red and black skinned.) our yard has clover and catnip, violets and wild flowers. We have an ancient collapsed grape arbor and Concord grapes that sort of do there own thing (grapes gone wild) Ancient roses, that bloom in the spring only. Lots of very old lilacs, mock orange, catalpa tree, pea tree, honey suckle, Solomon's Seal, Lily of the Valley, Tiger lilies, and other types of species Lilies in large swaths that again do their own thing. I have a plot of English violets but they are struggling due to yard peeps tossing the hoses on top of them (I am trying very hard to get them to spread again!!) I started a small patch of Canadian violets and they are spreading out beautifully.
Needless to say, I inherited my grans love of flowers and flowering trees. I have added Magnolia to the flowering trees and added even more lilacs and peonies!!! Needless to say, Spring is a riot of floral scents! Oh forgot to mention TONS of black locust that blooms in huge floral trusses that can be smelled a block away!!

I do believe we've met on other threads!  Welcome to the Porch!

Yes Blooie we certainly have and I was going to mention it myself, I was glad to see a friendly face or two here out on the porch swing. Boy, I want my Gramps super sized freezer chopped up and taken away so I can put a porch swing out on our front porch!! At the very least I can move the blue wicker couch from upstairs out there. I miss being able to just hang out on the porch during the summer with a glass of iced lemonade or iced tea. ;o)
