The Front Porch Swing

Oh, those daylilies are gorgeous! One of Ken's favorite flowers - I think because they are indestructible. He's mowed them down, moved them to another bed mid-bloom, and they just keep going!

The cruise was interesting, to say the least. Rained, misted, cold, and cloudy the whole time, and the one place we booked just to see, Tracy Arm Fjord, had the passage into it blocked by an iceberg and they couldn't take the cruise ship past it. That was AFTER we learned at 1:00 am the morning we were supposed to fly to Seattle that the only flight had been cancelled. Yep, typical Diane luck!

Somebody pass me a glass of lemonade and a big - gigantic - hunk of banana bread. Oh, I've invited a new member to the Porch, CanaDawn. Don't know if it's a him or a her - forgot to ask and it doesn't matter anyway, but I'm assuming she's a her....if not, Bruce has been our token male and he could probably use some company besides the turtle!

Anyway, hope she shows up - she's a smart cookie!

Now, Blooie... how did you know the turtle is a he? Not blatantly obvious, now... is it??? I assume turtles keep all their junk in their houses!

I also love day lilies. My bed out front is terribly overgrown with weeds. Mr. Mows It All keeps threatening to mow them down. But, in spite of the weeds, they are absolutely beautiful.

Hi from Wisconsin, can't stand this heat, by heat I mean anything over 70, waiting for cooler weather so I can go outside without bursting into flames, I don't know how your Southern people deal with it. I also can't stand the mosquitoes, bugs, and snakes. Wishing for a good blizzard.

Well, identifying whether the turtle was a he or a she was easy. First of all, if we let him out from under the bucket he gets lost. Second, he'll eat anything - appetite like an elephant and stomach like a goat. And last but not least, I saw him lift his leg on the morning glories. I probably wouldn't have even noticed, but it took him forever!! There ya have it. How to tell a rooster turtle from a pullet turtle. You're welcome!

Hello to another Wisconsonite! Not me, I'm actually a Yellowstoneite. But Wisconsin is well represented here. Don't let the name, WyoDreamer, fool ya.

*slides out from behind a shrubbery*....um.....yeah......*kicks an imaginary rock*...I'll hang with you guys if that's ok..oh, and sorry Bruce. You're still a token, I guess.
Blooie may have overstated my charms, but I'm basically ok. ...Can I have some banana bread too?

Someone should probably stop me from getting started on turtle biology......I can't tell them apart from the outside though, so maybe it's just as well I stay quiet....

Bruce is awesome. Now somebody delete this before he reads it! Welcome! From now on I think I'll call you Dawn. Easier to type! Or would you prefer CD? Banana bread is on the top porch step on the big platter. You and oldhenlikesdogs (oh boy, can I shorten that too? My spell checker dude just had apoplexy) just help yourselves. Oh, and don't sit on the bucket with the police tape around it. That's where we hide the turtle.

Think this Porcher is going to hit the hay. Got Kendra super early in the morning. Do NOT talk about me while I'm gone! ;) Night!

@oldhenlikesdogs Welcome to the front porch. I am WyoDreamer and I escaped from Wyoming (better make that moved from Wyoming) last year. I miss things -like the lack of humidity, but overall it is nice to be back in WI. Even though, in reality, it is too hot and sticky to actually sit on the front porch and eat banana bread...
