Today, my mom caught our little bantam Cochin roolet atop our standard sized buckeye hen. She was submitting to him and let him do his thing but when he hopped off, she beat him up and he ran away screaming!

Poor little guy. He is only about 4 1/2 months, so he his still figuring things out. I don't know if he got the job done or not

I hope he did. I want some babies! Lets see, we have a Turken, Buckeye, Barred Rock, Wellsummer, Marans and EE's, so we might have some interesting little chicks

I am most interested in seeing a Turken/Cochin mix! I don't know how genetics work though, so the chicks might not end up like I am picturing, a cochin with a bald neck

My bantam cochin rooster does the same since all his ladies are "occupied" (brooding).

Sadly, no babies will be made since it just doesn't "fit".

We do have a couple EE's that are pretty small. He could "fit" with them couldn't he???

All my roosters are Banty's. And yes they mate with the standard hens just fine. I have a Lil Roo named Henrietta (was supossed to be a female). He is a riot to watch. I have a buff Orp abt 6 -7 pounds and really tall. She will walk by & Henrietta will grab her wing and hang on then jump on her back. She has bucked him off a few times, and she has gotten it in the head several times. But all and all they mate just fine. I placed 11 eggs under 4 broodys hens and they all hatched.
