That coop would be perfect. Nice dappled shade. And close to your house. I can't see my coop from inside my house, and in the winter it's sort of a bummer.
You'll probably want to level that gravel space. And I can't tell from the photo, but you'll probably want to bury some hardware wire 12 inches deep all the way around to keep predators from digging in. I know it sounds like a huge hassle, but easier to do it while under construction than after an "attack."
