I'm rather confused, too... I mean, as far as I can tell, joking about transphobia being the fear of transit is hardly any different than joking about women being "the anti-fun" -- a very common joke in my three-woman and two-man household.

It's okay to joke about transphobia if you are trans.
It's not okay to joke about transphobia if you are not trans. Just like it's okay for you to joke about women being " the anti-fun " because you live in a household of women.
Unless EverthingDucks is trans, their joke was blatantly rude in my eyes.

*Because transphobia is such a sensitive topic, it really shouldn't be joked about by people who are not trans*
