The Gen Z Thread

Why does this subject always come up on this thread?? Like, get a life people!
This is a Chicken forum.

You said 'moving on' so Move On! Don't bring it up again!

I said moving on and then came back to the topic bc they kept asking and I didn't want to ignore them.

I am trying to move the thread along, but people keep commenting on the topic. i can say "lets move on" as much as I want, but it doesn't do anything if nobody moves along

It's okay to joke about transphobia if you are trans.
It's not okay to joke about transphobia if you are not trans. Just like it's okay for you to joke about women being " the anti-fun " because you live in a household of women.
Unless EverthingDucks is trans, their joke was blatantly rude in my eyes.
I'm sorry, I didn't clarify that very well -- my household has men in it, too. My father jokes all the time about his wife (my mother) being the "anti-fun," and she just laughs, as do the rest of us.

May ask why? If we could talk in a pm so we don't continue to cause issues here that would be great.
I just want to understand.

I would say here that your father is out of line. Its fine to joke about yourself and women all you want bc YOU are a woman.. but its not as ok when your dad says it, because he isn't a woman..

its funny because its a way to decompress the real world stress of being called those things for real.

Like I call myself "gross" to my friends and we laugh about it as a joke bc we are all LGBT teens who have been called gross for being gay before.

My mother knows that he is joking. My mother knows that her husband is joking. That's their relationship -- they poke fun at each other. They don't get offended because it's a joke.

Your joke is a much less sensitive topic, although it's kind of odd for your dad to be making that joke considering he is a man, not a woman. Either way, your home life is none of my business.

Joking about transphobia is a very sensitive topic, and it won't get many laughs.

Jokes about transphobia will always receive negative reactions and backlash.

That is the point we are at right now.

well thats your family dynamic, but don't expect that to work out in the real world. If that where me In your situation we'd all glare at my father..

It's not odd at all. Most women that I know wouldn't be bothered by that at all -- in and out of my household.
They're husband and wife -- they joke with each other. They don't care about gender.
Besides, my mom is kind of an "anti-fun."

I just don't see why a light-hearted joke with no intention of causing grief or offense has to be taken so hard just because the person making it wasn't in the right group.
Next I won't be able to make paska because I don't hail from Slovakia or ramen noodles because I'm not Asian.
