The Gen Z Thread

mmm sorry about that.

Strangely, ever since I went off my antidepressants I've been in a much better mood.
I briefly tried a SSRI in 2018 and it made me feel shitty. They killed my appetite, so my weight dropped to like 115 lbs. I don't like how many doctors seem to automatically throw questionable pharmaceuticals at psychological problems. When I was 12, I was prescribed an antipsychotic due to irritability. I'm glad that I never took it.

Mine helped level me, but at the cost of my emotions. I felt mostly numb.

I can notice a difference. I'm more anxious off the meds, I have a hard time sleeping, I'm ofc still depressed.. I'm cool with it though because before I felt nothing... now I feel depressed sometimes but I also get to experience other emotions for the first time in a long while. I'd rather feel something, even if its mostly sad, than nothing at all. At least now I feel human, not like a zombie.

I think SSRIs also tend to inhibit liver enzymes that are important in the metabolism of certain substances, and that hypothetically could deter certain individuals from taking SSRIs. ;)
