Has anyone seen this before? Seems like a good idea, bu I would substitute chickens for a cow. They're cheaper, and eggs are better for you than milk.

Something similar, based on the same data, is Heifer Project. They help the girls get suitable animals (cows, sheep, chickens, etc ) for their area. It's been several years since I've had any involvment with them, but they were having great success in lots of parts of the world. Instead of helping the girls get a loan, though, they gift the girl with the initial animal(s) on the condition that she share the offspring with others in her area.
