The Good and the Bad

Checked on the birds this morning and had a couple of surprises: good and bad:

The Good: I got my first Egg!

The Bad: 2 of my Roos got into a fight and one was a bit bloodied. I cleaned him up and isolated him to recover.

My Hen:Roo ratio is lower than I'd like, so probably a bit too much competition. I am working on a cage re-design to allow for more room.

Congrats on the first egg!

Maybe also keep an eye out to see if you just have a d*** male. I had a massive ratio of female to male in my most recent batch but one of my males started decapitating all the competition. I caught the second one in time to save it and was able to remove the culprit. Now everyone gets along fine.
