The Great Banana Bread Disaster of 2015

So what in hearing is, your husband and sons are mutants?

They probably feel like they are nuts enough, and don't need any more.

Like any good Southerner, I prefer to make mine with pecans (and I say it right, "pea-cans," though I have been known to pronounce it "puh-cahns" around my unfortunate yankee relatives that never learned to speak properly). But somehow, in spite of all my good intentions, my son is so afflicted that he prefers his banana bread without nuts - arguing that it is just fine as banana bread, that if it requires nuts, that makes it banana nut bread. I can't argue with logic like that ( I might as well just feed the bananas to the goats), so I don't try. I have made banana bread - well, banana muffins - with chocolate chips; the mini ones.

Guys, if it doesn't have nuts it's considered Banana Cake. Banana bread has to have nuts.


Terry doesn't like nuts in his. This would have been a deal breaker if I'd known before we got married.

I don't use nuts either... Eating banana cake is fine with me! I just cover it in butter.... Lots of butter.
