The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

They were hand delivered from Redding, so about 150 miles by car. Ok Truck pulling a trailer.

If you like Blue egg layers, then the Blue Egg Layers from the UofA hatch very nicely. contact:

I have hatched two batches of hatching eggs from her flock and they did very well, shipped from Arkansas.

The Blue Cockerels are the two Roosters I hatched and the Splash is one of the Pullets:

I took this picture this morning. They are15 or so weeks old.

Thanks for the info Ron! I always appreciate your input.

Don't count your chicks before they hatch! That's bad joo-joo!
I was contacted by a person that wanted three Pullets from An HRIR hatch. She even sent a down payment to me--all before they hatched. Boy was I nervous. The eggs came from the other side of the country.

Luckily the hatch was a good one and she eventually bought a Cockerel to go along with her three pullets.

Exactly. I have 7 eggs in lockdown, for turkeys, and 1 of them hatched yesterday... wandering around, lonesome. One of the 6 left started weeping during lockdown, so I eggtopsied it today... it died at 21 days and full of bacteria... full-developed baby, but small compared to the 1 that hatched yesterday. Today is hatch day, so I'm still waiting on the remaining 5. Candled 1 of them, and it's still alive... saw movement (thank God!).
