The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

Funny you should ask. The tip, about a inch and a half, came off this morning as did a patch of the black skin on the wing that was about an inch long. The tip of the wing bled a bit as did one edge of the spot that the patch came off of. It looks like I can see tendons or bone on one section, but the duck looks and acts fine. I sprayed the whole thing with BluKote and put her back in her pen!!
I am so glad it is healing up that is great! Hopefully she will grow some new skin over that area! You are doing a great job with her!

That is great news!

My pullet with the pecked up wing was trying to fly yesterday! The wing is doing very well. She did get her head pecked on again but that is nearly healed too.

I should be able to get her back with the flock soon.

That is great Ron! I had one turkey poult get completely scalped! I took him out of the brooder and put antibiotic ointment on his head put him in a separate brooder. But the next day he wanted back in with his buddies? So I put him back in and stood there waiting to see who did the scalping! It was my three Narris they all took turns getting a peck in on his poor little head! I popped each of them as they did the pecking and told them NO very sternly! And that was that! lol The poor little turkey that was scalped now has all his skin and doing well! And the color on his head is fine!
