Box cutter maybe??? Normally I don't cut them off like that.

I was wondering if I could make box cutters work better. I have to cut strips to the right size to wrap eggs in, and when you're doing 2 dozen plus or 3 dozen plus, it takes forever to cut all those strips.

Turkey eggs I received today..the shipper tried but didn't double box, padded a lot but not enough packing material to keep eggs from rolling into one another..eggs were individually bubble wrapped

That's why I fill in the spaces with wadded newspaper and shavings (and peanuts when I have them). I make sure the eggs are in there TIGHT.

I've received eggs that have been too loosely packed and there will be a lot of broken ones.

Well I cut mine in little squares and then I go ahead and put them all into a box, so that when i need them to use for around my eggs I just grab them from the already cut ones. then as my box gets down to very few I sit and cut away again, until the box is full of squares.

I have started now adding more layers around my eggs. So now they are all placed inside of a coffee filter, plastic baggie (so nothing will get on another just in case) newspaper, then the bubble wrap. and I use more then 1 layer of bubble wrap. Top, bottom and sides are all covered in bubble wrap, and then I stuff tiny pieces off bubble wrap in all the tiny spaces where nothing is located, and then newspaper crumpled up, and more bubble wrap. I am thinking about starting to use the little swiffer sweeper dust cloths to put around each one. It's going to bring up the expense though???? Anyone think it would be worth trying???

Was thinking about making my own foam egg holders, but not sure if I want to go that far????

Are you double boxing??? Because I can't get my medium boxes to fit right in a big box. If you can't close the big box all the way up they wont accept it. I use to cut down smaller boxes and fit them in and the USPS was still breaking the eggs, so stopped that all together.

go online order regional box a..fits great inside a medium box..you can only get them online they are free..

Except for big crush and puncture injuries to the box itself.... I actually think that packing the eggs tightly, so there is NO wiggle at all, is more important than double boxing.

But then again, I have only received five sets of shipped eggs.

Are you double boxing??? Because I can't get my medium boxes to fit right in a big box. If you can't close the big box all the way up they wont accept it. I use to cut down smaller boxes and fit them in and the USPS was still breaking the eggs, so stopped that all together.

No, I haven't been double boxing. I cannot get 12+ eggs properly packed and upright in a #4 priority box (especially considering it's not unusual for me to pack 15-18 eggs or even more for a 1 dozen order).

However, I noticed the other day at the USPS store that the medium flat rate box is a little smaller than the #7, so I ordered a bundle and got them a couple days ago. I checked it out and they will fit inside the #7, so I'm going to try doubling boxing that way.

I just ordered me some of the different size boxes, and even some of the tube boxes. I may try the tubes inside of the large or even medium boxes and see how those work. Has anyone ever cut a plastic tube aand placed it upright in the middle of the box? I was thinking about doing that the other day with a plastic tube container I have, that way nothing will crush the top of the box.
