The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

I started some odd years back with only chickens.

Last year I added turkey, geese, AND ducks. I ate or sold all of the turkey and geese, but still have duck and chicken.

Now this year I have been hatching like crazy.... And added quail.

Definitely! Since I started "doing chickens", I've moved on to ducks, have my first batch of quail going into lockdown next week, am now shopping for turkey eggs and can be caught side browsing pea fowl! My kids are ready to have me committed!
I know exactly what you mean.

After my next hatch, if I get the birds out, all I will have to go is geese, swans and the ratites lol

Package has arrived!

The outside looked OK, not great, one dent on the side.

Inside was perfect, ALL eggs in perfect shape. AND all eggs still upright.

Not that I could tell with the dark eggs, but the air cells on the light colored egg are loose. I don't think that will matter, but the eggs will go in tomorrow, and in a week we will know how they are!

The dent bothers me. If the box was hit hard enough to make a dent, it could have affected the eggs even though they were too tight to jiggle. Maybe that's why the loose air cells?

I'm going to be on pins and needles between now and hatch day. Keep me posted! But I'm glad you're putting them in a Brinsea. If they have any chance of hatching, they will do so in a Brinsea!

Oooooooh, shipped or actual good eggs? :lau :lau

(Not trying to be mean to any shippers, just a poke at the ENORMOUS hatch rate difference)

The reason I got a Brinsea was to have it for shipped eggs. My hatch rate on shipped eggs has doubled with the Brinsea!

This is the first year with the Brinsea, and I LOVE it!

It is --SO-- rock solid on temperatures! I just love the thing!
