The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

ARG!

Ok, I give..... :D

How could I say no to such lovely eggs for just the cost of shipping??? (The mind boggles at the thought)

Marans (prefer Black Copper since I already have some of those) and Olive Eggers.

how much is shipping?

I don't know. I don't have a scale yet, but I have a zone chart. If you'll give me the first 3 digits of your zip code, I think I can make a rough estimate.

When I ship 12+ to the lower 48, I quote a flat $15 for shipping, and it's almost always somewhere between $15.xx to $17.xx

Zip code 99603 Flat rate boxes come up here too..... :D

Ok so one of the ducklings died :( he just stopped half way and does it was so sad, but the other one is moving about fine he's running around the incubator we named him daffy :) and then the last one in the incubator is coming....... Foot first, is this normal?

Nope, foot first is not typical.

Hope he makes it!

Ok, using the priority box I usually use for 12+, I fit about 15-20 eggs in the box. It looks like that would end up being somewhere around $25 shipping, possibly a little more.

The only flat rate box I have is the medium, and I'm not sure if I can get an entire dozen in there with my usual packing method.

This is how I pack:

It's up to you: flat rate for something less than a dozen, or the larger box for more than a dozen.

I guess I need to get the larger flat rate boxes on hand.

Well, I easily have space for 12 eggs, I think I can squeeze in 15, but that would be max. (Never could figure out how to stack in my Brinsea.... I must be spatially challenged or some thing) Less than a dozen I don't think we would have a good enough number for a good trial run.

Soo.... I vote bigger box, tell me how much and your email and I will send you money via PayPal.

:ya chickies! Chickies! CHICKIES!

I've got your box half done. 8 of each. I don't want to go out to the barn this late at night for shavings, so I'll finish it in the morning and then off to the PO.

Be sure and take pics when you get the box. I want to see how it makes it practically all the way to the arctic circle.

DUDE! This is SUMMER now! I actually CHANGED COLORS yesterday!

Maybe I could be talked into any incubate-able eggs.....

Sheesh

:lau Looks like the chick addiction has got you now. Out of my last 6 shipments that I sent out all eggs got their in perfect condition. I was so happy knowing that. I even sent some to Puerto Rico and they got their perfect.:D

Actually, YES, I am an addict! (Since I admit I am an addict, it isn't a problem, right? :lau )
