Anyone else think its highly amusing that advertising states '100 % vegetarian diet" on free range eggs? Right now, as we speak, my hens have found an ant hill and are feasting on them. Earlier they ate worms. Hehehehe.. if a chicken is free ranging, its not a vegetarian
It is one of the dilema's of marketing a product that is fed no animal by products, one of the things many are grateful for. As we all know commodity feed can and usually does include chicken parts. One of the things the natural and organic community made a committment to was to provide animal proteins that are not raised on that diet.
Many beleive that the statement "no animal by products" is offensive to the consumer. I much prefer it. Vegetarian diet infers that vegetarinism is a preffered diet. It is really ironic in animals destined for human consumption.
