The gross truth about ducks...

Love the one abou the ramp to the pool. I tried EVERYTHING to get them to use a ramp. They continually run and try to fling themselves into the side of it. They really are dumb animals... but look at the size of their heads.. not much room in there..

Definitely have to agree here. Have tried the ramp. The ducks avoid it like the plague and I swear would rather injury a leg or a wing in their attempts to get in or out the the pool.

My ducks learnt how to use their ramp

but in the summer they do just randomly fall off the ramp into the pool LOL.

One of mine was horrified to find an egg popped out of her. She went quacking away at high speed up the hill VERY FAR away from the egg.

Mine like to swim in snow LOL they belly flop into the snow like they would into the pool, except they don't really end up going anywhere.

29. If they dont want to be held, many ducklings will throw up and shake it all over your hands.

AWWWW crap... is that what that was????? I picked up a day old one and it had goop coming out its mouth and was shaking its head and flinging it.. I told my hubby it was sick and would be dead by morning.. Been fine since and it is almost a week old.. HMMMMMM.... it fooled me. I put it down very quickly. Just about quarentined it away from the rest, but didn't. Little booger..

And don't transport them in a wire cage in the back seat of your newest car- the vomit is very hard to clean up in the inside of the car. Some ducks get very car sick.

The funniest thing about my ducks is they do everything the same at the same time. I only have the 3 ducks right now, we'll have 5 in the summer but I looked out the kitchen window yesterday while I was making cookies to see all 3 of my ducks standing around preening the same place at the same time in the same way. It was like seeing 3 of the 1 duck lol.

Oh, dear. I will have to move a couple of times over the next 10 years or so...maybe I should start investigating reliable shipping services now?

LOL

I once followed a pick up truck from my house 2 towns over and everytime the truck stopped about 5 ducks would pop up in a dog crate in the back and start quacking wildly for 10 minutes, then sit back down until the truck stopped again.
