The gross truth about ducks...

Ducks are seriously stupid... Mine had no idea how to walk down their ramp for 3 MONTHS!!! They'd just fall off flailing to the ground. I also caught them yesterday trying to eat a piece of plastic in the front yard, really confused that it wouldn't go down their bills. Sigh.

the other night, victor sprayed poo everywhere while joe was holding him... joe had to take a shower. lol

My ducks and geese put 'treasures in their water buckets" - Geese have put corncobs, sticks , lots of rocks, anything they can pick up. Ducks have mainly put sticks or rocks, as that is all they have they don't eat first. I think they are trying to keep the water level high so they don't hav to bend over to drink,--- that or it is a form of "tenderizing?'

just now as joe was carrying over victor to the bathtub, i looked up just in time to see his vent pulse and expose the pink gooey part, only to explode poop out onto my bathroom floor.

Luckily i was not in the cross hairs and avoided being pooped on..... for today

ok. count me out. i made it to page 4 and my friends told me they won't come hang out if i get ducks. the digging for grain in cow poo really put me over the line.

Oh come on! Wimp!!!

Besides...I have quail now too. They make the ducks look NEAT AND TIDY sometimes. And last night my oldest cat barfed on my quilt AND a clean pile of laundry...so the ducks are looking really good right about now.

OMG this is one of the best threads I've ever read!...We've only had ducks for a month and this thread confirms why they are so darn cute, they have to be with their habits!....

Not sure what # it's up to but here's one we've learned:

No matter how much space they have to walk by a water bowl, one foot has to go in it...

My Muscovies have razor sharp talons I wish could retract like a cats!...I'm still learning how to pick them up so they can't get to me, my hands look like I shook hands with Freddie Krueger!
