Do all your ducks stick around the yard? I just saw a thread about someone who just had all her muscovies fly away on her and I am wondering if anyone else has a problem keeping the ducks from taking off while freeranging.

My muscovy doesn't go too far. She likes to stick with her non-flying friends. She does poo from up high. You've got to watch which branches to walk under.

I have 4 pekins,...not my idea to get them, my son had to have them

. They are the grossest buggers I have ever seen

! They are funny though. We are thinking of rehoming them,...I will stick with my chickens.

The breeds of ducks that we have are too big to fly, so while they are little Houdinis at getting through fences, they are not able to fly away.

okay, I missed a few pages, maybe it has already been mentioned- I am lol
did someone mention that while they do not act stupid like that all the time, but in mating season my young kids could not turn their back on the drake- nasty old duck
the rest of the year he was a sweetheart though
and did anyone mention that ducks poop an aweful lot. lol

So far the worst of our Houdinis have been Cayuga and KCs. So while I adore my KCs, I'll likely not get anymore Cayugas anytime soon.
