The gross truth about ducks...

nettie - that is the funniest thing i've seen today. seriously - thanks for sharing! what a good sport!

ok a confession... i have 4 day old muscovies.. they are just angels. one of them pooped on me - the tiniest little poop ever... it was so cute. shh... i didnt even wipe it off right away - i went and showed my husband how cute it was.

my dorkiness is eclipsed only by my love for those little balls of fluff......

i have 8 two week old ducklings right now...their little poops were so cute in the beginning...then they started eating them...and swimming in them, and flinging them out of the brooder, and painting my wall, and pooping on eachother, and stepping on it...the poo is not what i think is cute anymore...lol

Miss Matilda is crippled and I bring her in the house for a spa day now and then.

She can't get in the pond by herself, so since I enjoy her company, I just bring her in the guest bathroom and let her splash and get a good bath along with tomatoes and other treats.

Outside, the explodo-poop is normal and the stench is blown around and diluted.

In the house, she can clear a room. She even got a bulls eye down the heater vent one day. She was quack-laughing at me as I had my arm down the vent cleaning it up.

Ducks have a keen sense of humor.

My DS would agree with you. Yesterday he told me his ducks must have been trying to play a trick on him. He had gone out in the morning before school to feed and water them and saw an egg in the corner of he coop. He decided to leave it to the afternoon. When he went out in the after noon he went to where the egg was and they had moved it, but in it's place was a large pile of poo some of which was white and looked like the egg. He was proud of himself for not falling for their trick though.

I love my ducks and they are not dumb. No animal is dumb - it's usually the human becasue they don't understand the animal!

I do agree that they're messy but if you can't handle that....don't have them.

Mine crack me up all the time . .....I love to watch them just be....well.......ducks! They love to talk to me and tell me all about their day...again it cracks me up!
