The gross truth about ducks...

well, I guess a couple of buckets worth comes out

yep thats a broody poop. when Dash was setting i'd pick her up and take her outside... quickly... lest she let it rip. i'd stand there with a hose to wash it away as best as possible. it was like an elephant or a buffalo! she's just a little duck for heavensakes!

once she literally ran us out of the hen house.... i didnt get her up in time. whew! even the hens were like "are you KIDDING me?"

Thanks for answering, Duck-feeder!

Roasted glazed duck is GREAT but a duck's just reward is in "turduckhen", a ROYAL Holiday feast to die for.

ducks can't purposefully "hold it" until a convenient time, but i think if they are sitting or if the are held in a certain way, the poop can't come out. like a gravity thing or something. I've noticed when i pick up my little boogers, they won't poop, but the second i out them down there's instantly a mess on the floor.

ROTFL I thought my chickens were the only ones to do this. I dont own ducks but have been interested in the possibilities but now I'm thinking more chickens would be easier and more sanitary lol.

It's a good thing when they poop on the floor when you put them down. That means it's not on you.

well if i hold them in one particular position, mainly victor, (in a more upright way) he'll poop on me.... punky...
